Celebrate the visual arts!

This art award program is offered by Pinole Artisans, a local art organization, dedicated to the idea that art is good for us as individuals, and the community as a whole. It is our hope that this award will encourage students to pursue art studies and develop their own art The Senior award can be used for tuition, fees, books or art supplies. Junior, Sophomore and Freshman awards will be in the form of a gift card for art supplies. Eligible: Any Pinole Valley High student. Enrollment in art classes at PVHS is not a requirement. Four awards are available. PORTFOLIO Please submit one or more photos of your work on a CD or printed format. All materials should be labeled with your name, title of each piece (if any), media, dimensions, and year completed. Artwork may include drawings, paintings, photography, ceramics, digital works, mixed media, printmaking, or sculptures. Submissions may include coursework or artwork created outside of art courses, preferably within the past two years. ARTISTS STATEMENT: We would like to hear in your own words why you believe art is important in our community, and what impact creating art has had on you personally. One or two paragraphs would be adequate. . DEADLINE: Return this completed form along with your photos and statement to arrive by May 1, 2014.
