Camp families can register for the age appropriate camp group using the forms in the 2014 Camp Gordon Clark brochure. When completing the Camper Info Form, please indicate that your child would benefit from additional support and a leadership team member will follow up with you.

the National Inclusion Project, the Emilson YMCA is pleased to offer a more inclusive camp experience this summer. With the support of a Behavior Specialist, we will be offering two levels of inclusive camp opportunities.

We Believe Camp is for Everyone!

Traditional Day Camp with supports for children ages 3-15 with autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder or learning disabilities to participate and benefit from the full camp experience.

M.ED, our Camp Behavior Specialist, has been with the Y for four years in various roles. She received her Masters in Special Education from Lesley University, and is dually licensed in early childhood and moderate special education with over 12 years of teaching experience. training and ongoing support to accommodate campers who may benefit from more positive behavior techniques and social skills coaching.

DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SUMMER DAY CAMPER:

SENSORY SMART CAMP Week 9 8/188/22/2014

A traditional summer day camp experience with additional inclusion supports. During all nine weeks of camp, campers will be fully integrated into Camp Gordon Clark. Campers should be able to participate within the standard staff ratios of: 6 years and under 1:5 7 years and above 1:10 Campers should be able to participate for a full-day 9am-4pm. For campers ages 5-12 years For the camper who wants the traditional camp experience but would benefit from lower staff ratios, additional supports and shorter days. During the week, campers will take part in traditional camp activities as well as specialized social thinking instruction and sensory diet opportunities. 9:00am-12:00pm $220/wk. 12:00pm-1:30pm lunch bunch add-on $80/wk. (bring your own lunch)

SENSORY SMART CAMP WEEK OVERVIEW

Drop-off, Morning Circle, Swimming, and Pick-up remains the same. But campers will have a chance to explore a variety of try-its with a different theme each day.
