Special Fire-Fighting Procedures: Firefighters should wear self-contained breathing

Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards: Closed containers may explode when exposed to
extreme heat. Potentially hazardous vapors could
accumulate inside bulk storage vessels; care should be
taken to avoid exposing the vessel atmosphere to heat,
sparks, or open flames. Vent and aerate such vessels
before entering for maintenance or cleaning.

SECTION VI – HEALTH HAZARD DATA
Emergency Overview: Not normally considered toxic. However, prolonged exposure or direct
contact may cause eye and skin irritation. Do not ingest.

Symptoms of Exposure:
Eyes: Contact with eyes can cause serious irritation.
Skin: Moderate irritant due to defatting, drying effect on skin.
Inhalation: Spray or mists containing product could cause some nose and
throat irritation.
Ingestion: General effects, such as diarrhea, nausea and headaches are
likely.

First Aid:
Eye Contact: Immediately flush with copious amounts of soap and water for
15 minutes. DO NOT RUB EYES! Contact physician.
Skin Contact: Immediately flush with copious amounts of soap and water for 5
minutes. Remove contaminated clothing. If irritation persists,
contact physician. Launder contaminated clothing before re-use.
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If necessary, give oxygen, artificial
respiration. Contact physician.
Ingestion: If patient is conscious and can swallow, give 3 - 4 glasses of
water. Call a physician or Poison Control Center immediately.
Induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person.

Other Protection: Properly maintain an eyewash and safety shower facility in the

Steps to be taken in case material is spilled or released:
Remove sources of ignition from the spill area. Dike and contain large spills for possible
recovery. Cover smaller spills with inert absorbent; sweep up and place in a waste
disposal container. Flush area with water.
Precautions to be taken in handling and storage:
Avoid storage in high temperature areas or near fire or open flame. Keep containers
closed when not in use.
Other precautions:
Do not handle until the manufacturer’s safety precautions have been read and understood.
Use reasonable care to avoid skin and eye contact.
