Williams English 1101 12 February 2014 Assignment one Reflection I felt that I did a good job with my short handed notes with all three observations and would consider that a strength from assignment one. For example, in my Iron Man observation two, theres multiple entries that provide a description from minute to minute so theres enough detail for everyone to follow even if they haven't seen any of the movies. Some weak points in my observation however would include not being descriptive enough with one of my artifacts, Tonys chest generator. One of my peers pointed out that they weren't sure if people would know what it would look like solely on the description I provided. So, I decided to add additional descriptions for all of my artifacts and pictures as well to make sure everyone had an understanding of what the artifact was. Another weakness that I noticed was my convention and rules portion of my assignment. I was only describing rules that I saw in the first movie of the Iron Man series and not the entire series (So in my revised version, the conventions and rules are applied to the entire series). The comments that I gathered from my peers during the workshop where all helpful and considered when I was revising my observations. I described the locations of the Iron Man series as figured worlds, but I still needed to describe where each of the movies took place. Another comment that I had to take into consideration was my summary of conventions and rules. I generally summarized just the first movie, and didn't provide the overall conditions for all of the movies. I also noticed that I didnt include literacy practices of the actors in the figured world, and I made sure to include it in my revised assignment one. Although my peers said that my description of my actors was great, I decided to a little more detail into the characters that don't appear in the movie as much as someone like Tony or Pepperpots. For the above and beyond portion of assignment one, I utilized several options that where listed on the above and beyond guidelines for this assignment. I added two interviews in addition to Tony Starks. One interview was conducted with Cody Rhodes, while the other interview was with Pepperpots. To add more detail to the artifacts and figured world, I added some pictures to show a visual representation. For example, for Tonys chest generator, I added a picture that has him with the chest generator with and without the iron man suit. All of the pictures that make up my artifacts and figured worlds are included in my Prezi presentation. Also, within my prezi, I included extra information on the artifacts. As an addition to the website Im making for the portfolio, I am also making an additional tab that has other things besides what was required in assignment one. On this tab I added some links to youtube footage of behind the scenes footage of the actors, their thoughts on the movies, how the movies where made, and important artifacts used in the movie.
