A figured world is a socially constructed place, specific people, recognized and certain artifacts become significant and certain values are preferred. Figured worlds are populated be certain actors who engage in certain behaviors, meaningful acts, or change minds in a particular situation. Rules and Conventions: I am going to be observing the figured world of Pretty Little Liars. It is set in the fictional town of Rosewood, Pennsylvania. A town based off the real town called Rosemont, Pennsylvania which is approximately 20 miles outside Philadelphia. The purpose of the figured world is to find a murderer. There are five friends, Allison, Aria, Hanna, Spencer, and Emily. Then one summer Allison goes missing. Later it is said that she had been murdered. After Allison went missing the other four girls start getting bullied and stalked via social media. In the season finale for last season it was revealed that Allison was still alive but she cant come back because she is afraid of someone. Throughout the seasons more and more secrets are revealed about all five of the girls. Every episode talks about each girls life and problems they face which all lead back to Allison somehow. The stalker, named A (because thats how he/she signs her notes), also blackmails the girls on several occasions to try to ruin their lives. They know that A always wears a red coat because every time they get close to seeing who A is before he/ she runs off they are always wearing a red coat. Right now the girls are trying to find out who is stopping their friend Allison from coming back. Multiple activities happen in Rosewood. Sometimes the girls are at school dealing with exams and so on. Other activities include meetings at a coffee shop where Emily works. The coffee shop is often where they come up with their plans. A lot of episodes involve the woods because the girls are always searching for clues. A always sends them on wild chases that lead to dead ends. Slowly they are learning more about who their friend really is but they still havent figured out who she has been afraid of. The girls spend a lot of their time at Hanna house because her moms never home. Her home is where they often do homework and try to make sense of the past events. Appropriate communication is talking in quiet and hushed voices at all times. Skipping classes is also a common activity by the girls when they want to explore a new clue. The use of social media is a very common activity in the show. Lying and keeping secrets are very appropriate behavior and everybody in the show does it. While in school the girls are always talking and never do any of their homework. Bullying is a common behavior in the school. Being scared is an appropriate and acceptable behavior. Staying with your boyfriend even though he has lied to you is common for all the girls. Rosewood is a quiet town. Telling the truth is an unacceptable behavior. Telling the cops about A or that Allison is alive is practically forbidden. Trusting people would be considered inappropriate. Talking about their stalker, A, in a public area is a very inappropriate behavior. Going anywhere alone is unacceptable and dangerous behavior. One discourse community would be the A team. This is a group of people who hated Allison and now are tormenting Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna. Their goal is to make the

four girls life like hell. They all communicate through social media. They were all either bullied or blackmailed by Allison when she was alive and now are looking for revenge. Another discourse community would be the five girls Allison (even though she is missing now), Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna. These five girls are all one community because they are all best friends and their goal is to find who Allison is afraid of. They all believe lying is okay when it is necessary. A third discourse community in the show would be the corrupt Rosewood police. They dont care about uncovering the truth they just want an easy solution. All of the cops, especially Wilden and Garret, always lie. These two cops were also involved in Allisons disappearance and supposed murder. Most of the Rosewood police hated Allison and were glad when she disappeared. A fourth discourse community are the parents. All the five girls parents have secrets that could ruin their lives if anyone found out about them. Their common goal is to protect their daughters from trouble. They all also believe that lying is okay if its done to protect someone. Observation One Saturday, January 25, 2014 Time: 8:00pm-9:00pm Description of the Location: The episode starts off at Spencers house with Aria, Hanna, and Emily. This is where they get their first threat from A. The episode goes through the make believe town of Rosewood. These scenes are in the coffee shop and Hannas house. There are also scenes in the Rosewood jail house. A majority of the show also takes place in the close by town of Ravenswood. The wild goose chase after A all happened in Ravenswood. An actor is a person that relies on other things to control their behavior. Cultural artifacts is very important in our human life (for remaking human actors). Actors are in the figured world to do something specific. Artifacts are essential for humans to be able to modulate their behavior, cognition and emotion. Reliance on artifacts as guides for self-management can happen. The actors listed are not all the actors but are the only ones that are important in this observation. I may mention other minor actors in my observations that are not listed below. Allison DiLaurentis: She was the it girl in Rosewood. Everybody wanted to be her friend she was the most popular girl in the town. Her best friends are Hanna, Aria, Spencer, and Emily. She was always manipulative, secretive, and devilish. One day she disappears. Even though a lot of people hated her she had a way of making others feel special. After a year Allisons body was found. Her role in this figured world is to be the helpless victim. Hanna Marin: One of the four girls that are being stalked and bullied by A. She was always like Allisons pet and did everything she said. She is the typical preppy girl type. Hanna is very protective of the people she loves and will do anything to protect them. Her boyfriend Caleb is always trying to support and help her. Her boyfriend, Caleb, also knows about A. Her mom, Ashley, was excused of murdering a police officer, Wilden. In the figured world Hanna plays the role of a concerned girl trying to find out who is stalking her and her friends and at the same time trying to protect her loved ones (her mom and Caleb).

Aria Montgomery: One of the girls that has been getting stalked and bullied by A. She was dating one of her teachers, Ezra, but then they were forced to break-up because of Ezras job situation and baby momma drama. Aria is constantly forced to lie for other people, including her dad (because he had an affair). Now she is dating a new guy, Jake. Her role in this figured world of Pretty Little Liars is kind of the same as Hannas, find out who is stalking her and her friends while trying to maintain her feelings towards Ezra. Spencer Hastings: One of the four girls that are being stalked and bullied by A. She is one of the smartest person in the school. Spencers role in this figured world is to be the brains of the group. She always figures out what A is trying to do. Spencer always makes the plans for whenever they go on any adventures chasing red coat/ A. Sometimes she can get bossy and pushes people too far even though she means well. Emily Fields: One of the four girls that are being stalked and bullied by A. Emily is a lesbian. She secretly is in love with her friend Allison. Allison knew this and would always take advantage of her. Emilys role in the figured world is being the optimistic one. She is also the most nave and gullible one. She is often As number one target because she is easy to trick and play mind games with. Ezra Fitz: He dated Aria before he knew that she was his student at Rosewood High. They still dated but eventually people started questioning them and Ezras past starting coming back (his high school girlfriend claimed she had Ezras baby). Soon after this happened they broke up. In this figured world Ezra is A. It was revealed in the season finale that he had been the one stalking them but we dont know why yet. Mona Vanderwaal: Her role in this figured world has been working for A. We did not know tis until the end of the second season. They ended up saying she was crazy and so she was sent to Radley, the mental hospital. Allison had always bullied and made fun of Mona. Before it was revealed that Mona worked for A she was one of Hannas best friends. Eventually she is released from Mona and starts trying to be Hannas friend again. The whole time she is secretly working for A. Cece Jones: She is the college party girl. Cece and Allison were friends and Allison would always go party with her. She hated Allison because Allison out her kicked out of U-Pen. She has a lot of secrecy about her that the show has not revealed yet. Ceces role in the figured world is that she is one of the red coats and is involved in the A team. Officer Darren Wilden: He was a detective who arrested Hanna for shoplifting. Later Hannas mom, Ashley, slept with Wilden in order for him to drop the charges. He often harasses Aria, Hanna, Spencer, and Emily. Wildens role in this figured world is a detective trying to find out who murdered Allison. He acts as a corrupt officer who is taking orders from someone else. Carla Grunwald: She is an elderly lady who can talk to spirits. She was the house mother of a sorority, Gamma Zeta Chi. This is where Allison found her when she was partying with Cece. Her role in this figured world is to be a warning giver to Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily. She warns them that Allison is still alive but does not want to be found.

There were five friends Allison, Spencer, Hanna, Aria, and Emily. One day Allison went missing and then a year later her body was found dead. Ever since she had disappeared the

rest of the girls have been getting messages from A. The girls thought it was just Allison but even after her body was found they still got the text messages making them do things and threatening them. Slowly they started encountering more dangerous people who they think might have killed Allison. They slowly found out that more of their close friends we actually working with this A, these people included Mona and now Ezra. The girls find themselves having to tell more and more lies to protect themselves and the ones they love. Recently they have just discovered that Allison is alive and is hiding from someone. Artifacts are items in a place that have significant meaning. Cultural artifacts are objects inscribed by their meaning. An artifact can be just a material aspect. Artifacts help label and distinguish different areas. Artifacts in a figured world help open up the world. Magic 8 ball with As message: This is a significant artifact because it is the first A threat in this observation. It shows how much A scares the girls. The message, if she goes free, youll hear from me-kisses, A is significant because it shows us that anytime something good happens for the girls A will always make something bad happen. Cell phones: A always sends messages and threats to Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna on their cell phones. These threats often lead the girls to do something crazy because A tricks them or blackmails them via text message. The first time A sent a message, in this observation, that was real threat was on their cell phones saying they better find Mona or the cops will think they killed her. Cell phones are significant in this figured world because thats how the girls communicate with A. The magic box: The magic box contained another message from A. The message was on a hand saw and it said in red letters Watch me make a girl disappear. Kisses A. this was significant because it gave the girls their first clue of where to find Mona. The artifact makes the girls look up magic shows happening that day and they find one going on in Ravenswood (the next own) so they decide to go there. Later on this magic show will lead to the girls finding As lair. As clothes: As clothes that they find in the lair are a significant artifact because it tells the girls that A is a man. This whole time they thought it was a girl but they were wrong. Pictures in As lair: All the pictures of all five girls throughout their lives after Allison disappeared were posted all over As lair. These pictures are significant because it shows how much of a stalker A is. The pictures make the girls realize that A is everywhere tracking their every move which makes him even scarier. Allisons diary: This is important because it is the only thing taken from the lair. This artifact is significant to the girls because they can finally figure out what Allison has been hiding. The diary gives Hanna (the girl that actually took it) pride because she finally has something that could give her and the other girls an advantage over A. It might help them find Allison. Red coat: The red coats are a significant artifact because that is what the A team wears. Anytime the girls see a red coat they either think it is Allison or A. Anytime the girls see a red coat they always try to follow it.

A discourse community are a group of people with common goal, shared beliefs, shared ways of communicating, and common purposes in a figured world. A Team: This is a group of people who hated Allison and now are tormenting Aria, Spencer, Emily, Hanna, and possibly still Allison. Their goal is to make the four girls life like hell. They all communicate through social media. They were all either bullied or blackmailed by Allison when she was alive and now are looking for revenge. The Pretty Little Liars: The five girls Allison (even though she is missing now), Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna. These five girls are all one community because they are all best friends and their goal is to find who Allison is afraid of. They all believe lying is okay when it is necessary.

Literacy practices are ways of communicating which include verbal, nonverbal, written, and spoken languages. Text message: Everybody in the show communicates through text messages. All the girls text each other to let the other one know the plans for that day. Most of As threats happen via text messages that cant be traced. The girls do some crazy stuff because of false messages A sends them. Lying: A common way for everybody to communicate in this show is by lying. Aria, Spencer, Hanna, Emily all lie to their families and the cops in order to keep their secret about A because they are afraid to tell anyone. Lying is all Allison ever did to everyone. Everybody lies to everybody to protect either themselves or a loved one. Also everybody lies because everybody has secrets they are trying to protect.

Observation (Note: I will list the times according to how long the time has elapsed since the show started. The show was recorded so the commercials are included in the length of the show.) One minute in- The four girls, Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna are in Spencers kitchen. Someone rings the doorbell and leaves a package outside the door. Spencer brings it inside and when they open it they realize it is from A. The package contains four magic 8 balls with their names on them. When they read them it says If she goes free youll hear from me, Kisses-A. Ten minutes in- They are in the Rosewood county jail. The investigator in Wildens murder case comes out and tells Ashley, Hannas mom, that all the charges have been dropped and she is no longer a suspect in Wildens murder. Fifteen minutes in- The girls, Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna, get a threat from A saying if they dont find Mona they will think Hannah killed her. They call Radley and determine that Mona had already been dismissed. The girls are scared and start searching for places that she could be.

Seventeen minutes in- All four girls are watching the news in Hannas house. There is breaking news that says they now know who they are looking for in the murder of Officer Darren Wilden. A sketch shows up of a girl that looks exactly like Cece Jones. The girls get scared because they know that Cece will be after them next based on As threat because Hannas mom charges got dropped. Twenty- five minutes in- Aria and Jake are having a date night but then Jake falls asleep. Aria is disappointed and offers to make him some coffee but he turns her down and decides to leave saying he needs to get some sleep. Aria is disappointed and decides to meet up with Ezra at the coffee shop. At the coffee shop they end up talking for hours and Aria kisses him. Thirty- five minutes in- All the girls are at Spencers house when they receive another package. When they open it they realize it is another A threat. It is a magic box which Spencer figures out how to open correctly and inside is a saw with red writing on it saying Watch me make a girl disappear Kisses -A. Spencer figures out what A is trying to say that he/she is putting on a magic show. Immediately the girls start searching for a magic show near them that was happening that day. They discover there was a magic show being put on in Ravenswood later that afternoon. They decide to go there and check it out. Forty three minutes in- Aria, Spencer, Emily, Hanna arrive in Ravenswood and find where the magic show is being held. While they are watching the magic show they get a text from A saying they took Emily. And sure enough as they look around in panic Emily is nowhere to be seen. Forty- five minutes in- After calling Emily they finally find her trapped in a box about to be cut in half by an electric blade They are in some sort of factory. Just about as the box is about to reach the blade someone in a red coat hits a button to stop the blade and then runs off but Spencer follows her. As Aria and Hanna are taking Emily out of the box Aria spots another red coat with a mask on and starts chasing her. Aria finally catches up to her and knocks the mask off and finds out that the red coat is Cece. Fifty minutes in- Aria gets distracted and Cece escapes. Spencer comes back and says that the red coat she was chasing was maybe Allison. She said that the red coat (maybe Allison) led her to this door in another building. So Aria, Hanna, and Emily follow Spencer into the other building. Fifty- three minutes in- Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily walk into the room Allison was leading Spencer to. When they open the door they realize they have found As lair. While looking around Hanna sees Allisons diary and takes it. As they look through the room they realize that A has been everywhere watching them. There are pictures of all five of the girls all over the walls with their secrets posted next to their pictures. There is a computer with a surveillance camera on it so A can monitor them at all times. Fifty- five minutes in- Hanna sees As clothes (black sweatshirts and black shirts) and determines that A is a man. They see a map that lists places where Allisons been. They decide to leave and try to find more answers on their own.

Fifty- eight minutes in- As the girls go outside they see Grundwald and she tells them that Allison is alive but does not want to be found. She tells them not to go looking for her. She tell them that Allison is hiding from someone but if they try to find her they will lead who she is hiding from right to her. The girls dont listen and start looking for Allison. Sixty minutes in- The screen blacks out and then it shows Ezra in the lair. He looks upset because he knows the girls had broken into his lair. It is obvious by end of the episode that Ezra is A or at least one of the members of the A-team. Observation Two Friday, January 31, 2014 Forty- Eight Minutes Description of Location: This episode takes place all around Rosewood. A lot of the scenes are in the coffee shop and the high school. There is one scene somewhere in the woods in the town of Rosewood. They do not describe the exact location of the woods. The scene in the woods happens at night which makes it creepier. Hannas and Spencers houses were also used for some important scenes. Actors: (These specific actors play a more significant role in this particular observation. These characters are specifically mentioned in this observation to emphasize certain points in the episode which you will read about in the actual observation.) Toby Cavanaugh: He is Spencer Hastings boyfriend. He was briefly a part of the ATeam, which he only joined, he claims, to protect Spencer. Toby recently learned that his mother committed suicide in Radley but then A gives him proof that his mother did not commit suicide and now he is on a mission to find out the truth. Jessica Dilaurentis: She is the mother of Allison and Jason Dilaurentis. She had an affair with Spencer dads, Peter Hastings. After Allisons death she eventually returns to Rosewood in her old house. She acts like Allison is still alive and still changes her bed sheets and refuses to empty her room. Jessica is a mysterious character in this show who seems to be hiding something.

Discourse Communities: (These discourse communities are shown in this observation.) Parents: All the five girls parents have secrets that could ruin their lives if anyone found out about them. Their common goal is to protect their daughters from trouble. They all also believe that lying is okay if its done to protect someone. Corrupt Rosewood Police: They dont care about uncovering the truth they just want an easy solution. All of the cops, especially Wilden and Garret (another cop), always lie. These two cops were also involved in Allisons disappearance and supposed murder.

Observation (Note: This episode was watched on demand so the commercials were limited that is why the observation time is shorter.) Two minutes in- The girls know Allison is alive and are discussing what they should do next. They dont know if they are happy about it or not. They dont know whether Allison was playing with them this whole time or if she is really scared that someone is after her. Five minutes in- Hanna comes up with a brilliant idea. She says if they can figure out what girl went missing the same day Allison did and then they can figure out who really got buried in Allisons casket. If the girls can find out who this missing girl is then maybe they can find out more clues that could lead them to Allison. Six minutes in- Emily visits Allisons house and sees her mom, Jessica, cleaning the sheets and changing the comforters. She was acting like Allison still slept in her room. She was saying how the sheets looked musty. Emily was surprised that Jessica did this considering the fact that Allisons has been hiding out of town for about two years. Nine minutes in- Toby comes back from searching for answers to find out who killed his mom. He and Spencer started embracing each other. They start talking about what he found out about his mom while he was away doing research. He found out that this company who owned Radley (mental hospital where his mom committed suicide) tried to cover some other peoples death. Fifteen minutes in- Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna get a threat from A at school in one of their classrooms. The threat was written on the chalk board it said, Whoever finds her gets to keep her. Kisses-A (talking about finding and keeping Allison). This threat gets the girls worried that their friend may actually be in trouble. They decide that they have to find her first before A. Eighteen minutes in- Hanna sets up a meeting with this other girls friends who disappeared the same day Allison did. She was a blond and her name was Sara Harvey. As she is messaging Saras friends, trying to arrange a time that they could meet and talk, she begins opening Allisons diary that she had stolen from As lair. After their meeting they figure out that Saras story didnt match Allisons story because their friend, Sara, was seen on the day after labor which was the day the cement was poured on Allisons grave. Twenty-three minutes in- Mona runs into Ezra outside the coffee shop and talks to him. She talks to him about having a mentor like the Hanna, Aria, Spencer, and Emily do. She talks about how she is jealous of the girls relationship with Ezra. She talks about how some people are not who they seem to be. Then she compares herself to Ezra stating that he is hiding something as well (because of the books he makes them read which are about masks and secrecy which she says are very revealing of ones character). Ezra responds by saying that fear is a good thing and that its the motivation for students in Rosewood High. Twenty-six minutes in- They are in Hannas house when Jessica stops by and offers Ashley, Hannas mom, a real-estate job. When her mom leaves the room to go get her license she says to

Hanna that Allison suggested she help Hannas mom. After Hanna stares at her weirdly she mentions she was talking about seeing Allison in her dreams. Thirty-two minutes in- After a brief commercial it shows Spencer and Toby talking about his mom again to a CEO of the head hospital. After Spencer showed off her lawyer skills they finally got the owners of Radley to admit that Tobys mothers death was not a suicide. In the next scene while they are telling this story to Mr. Hastings (Spencers dad/lawyer) he says they should sue Radley and get it shut down. He says he will help Toby win this battle with Radley. Thirty-five minutes in- In the next scene it shows Aria wanting to have a talk with Ezra. Ezra takes her to his secret cabin in the middle of the woods (out of town). He talks about how he wants to go back in time to change things so they could be together. Ezra says that they can have the place (the cabin) as their secret hiding place. He gives Aria a key and they start kissing. There is hook to a trap door on the floor that Ezra glances at but Aria does not notice. Forty-three minutes in- It changes scenes and the girls Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna are at Allisons memorial. Hanna finally tells the girls that she took Allisons diary and shows it to the girls. They get mad because she didnt show it to them earlier but Hanna says its because she was afraid to because of all the bad stuff Allison had wrote about them in it. Forty-eight minutes in- After a commercial it shows A, probably Ezra, lifting the trap door in the cabin and then showing a secret room underneath. Observation Three Saturday, February 1, 2014 Forty-Eight Minutes Description of Location: A lot of this observation/ episode happens in the woods. The cabin where A comes is in the middle of the woods (a place hard to find). There are some scenes in the coffee shop, Spencers house and in Hannas house. Observation (Note: This episode was watched on demand so the commercials were limited that is why the observation time is shorter.) Three minutes in- Aria, Spencer, Emily and Hanna are talking about Allisons diary and why Hanna had not told them that she had had it earlier. The girls decide that they will each take turns reading the diary. Eight minutes in- All the girls sit down to eat lunch together. Emily tells them about her plan to decode Allisons diary. She decides to color code the stories pink sticky note means Hanna, purple stick note means the story is about Aria, green sticky notes means the story is about Emily, blue sticky note means the story is about Spencer, yellow sticky note means the story is about Allison, and white sticky note means they dont know who the story is talking about. They read something about a bed and breakfast (Busy Bee Inn) which is where they think Allison is hiding and decide they will go there later that evening. While they are decoding Ezra is watching them through the window. He sees Hanna put the diary in her purse.

Fifteen minutes in- Emily is working in the coffee shop where she finds a note in her purse saying I want to come home meet me at our spot and she thinks it is from Allison. Being very nave Emily decides to go their place which is a place called kissing rock. When Emily gets there no one comes to meet her. After waiting about thirty minutes Emily decides to leave. Seventeen minutes in- Aria cancels plans with Ezra saying she is having a girl night with Hanna, Spencer, and Emily because Hanna and Caleb had broken up. When really she is going to this old bed and breakfast (Busy Bee Inn) with the rest of the girls. They are going there to see if Allison is hiding there because she had written about the place in her diary. Twenty minutes in- Spencer hears her dad talking to Jessica Dilaurentis about something that needs to be kept secret. Spencer interrupts and asks What needs to be kept a secret? Jessica replies that She and her husband are getting a divorce and she did not want Jason, her son, to know yet. When she leaves Spencer immediately starts questioning her father. He says he is just trying to help Jessica by giving her some legal advice. His replies are very short and seems like he is hiding something. He changes the subject by saying he has bad news for Toby about his moms suicide case. He says that his mom had just slipped on some ice and it had nothing to do with any misconduct from the Radleys staff. Twenty-five minutes in- The scene jumps to Hannas house where Ezra arrives. He tells Ashley, Hannas mom, that Hanna is falling behind in class and needs some extra help. Ashley has to leave to answer her phone. While she is on the phone Ezra sneaks upstairs. He finds Hannas room and starts searching through her things trying to find the diary. He could not find it so he goes back downstairs and is just in time as Ashley gets off the phone. Thirty minutes in- The girls are driving to the bed and breakfast (Busy Bee Inn) to find Allison or some clues about where she might be. They get lost because the GPS malfunctions and takes them to the woods. The car then completely stops working. Hanna text her friend Travis to come pick them up but he says it will be two hours before he can get there. There is a thunderstorm going on so Aria decides to take the girls to Ezras cabin because it is close by to where they were. She does not tell them that it was Ezras cabin instead she says it was her uncles. She lies to them because they dont know that she and Ezra were back together. Thirty-five minutes in- The scene changes to Ezra dressed in all black driving. He is headed toward the cabin. Then the scene changes back to Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna in the cabin. Hanna tells them what is really bothering her. She finally says that Caleb left her because he had met someone else. She is upset and walks outside and Emily follows her. While in the woods they hear something and star heading back to the cabin. Forty minutes in- Back in the cabin Aria and Spencer go into the pantry so they can gather some blankets incase the storm gets worse. While they are in the pantry someone closes the door and locks it from the outside. Aria stares through the key hole and realizes that A (it is really Ezra but they dont know that yet). Forty-four minutes in- Hanna and Emily open the pantry door and say that the front door was locked and they had to come through the back door. Aria and Spencer start explaining what had happened and how A was there. Emily realizes that Allisons diary is gone, A had taken it. Someone starts knocking on the door, and they get scared that it is A again but when they open it they realize it is just Travis, Hannas friend, who had come to pick them up. Forty-eight minutes in- Ezra calls aria to check up on her. He is wearing all black confirming that he was the one in the cabin that night. Aria gets a text from A saying thanks for the tip with a picture of the bed and breakfast (Busy Bee Inn). Emily realizes that their decoding of the diary actually helped A because A now knows who the stories that Allison wrote were actually about. Aria says that they have basically just given Allison to A. Interview (Note: Since I cannot meet a character from Pretty Little Liars I have fabricated the answers to my interview questions. I answered them as I thought the character would have answered them.) I decided to interview Ezra Fitz. 1) Tell me about why you are after Allison? First I was very attracted to Allison so I started dating her. I was very intrigued by her and wanted her all to myself. I started following her around to make sure she was not seeing anyone else. I am a lot older than her so we had to keep our relationship a secret so I had to make sure she wasnt doing anything I didnt want her doing. I told her everything even about my past murder of my old girlfriend. I got her pregnant and then she just disappeared. I was worried about my future baby and that she would tell the police my secret. I want to find her and have her to myself once again. 2) How do you really feel about Aria? I care for her very little. I am just using her as a replacement until I track down my Allison. I dont care much for her feelings I am just using her because I know she trusts me and will lead me to my Allison soon. 3) How long have you been stalking Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily? I have not been stalking them I just have been just watching them ever since Allison disappeared because I knew they were her closest friends. They would be the first person she would have told about where she is going. I know that if I keep stalking them they will eventually lead me to Allison. If that doesnt work I am also threatening them to find Allison faster before I do that way it will make my job easier by just following them while they are searching for her. 4) How many people are you working with on the A-team and why those people? Over time I have accumulated quite a few team members. I had to lie to my helpers about my true intentions because they dont know me and probably wouldnt have helped

me if they knew my true reasoning of wanting Allison back. My helpers include Mona, Cece, Jenna, Toby, Paige and that is to only list a few. I chose these people to work with because they all hated Allison. Allison either bullied or broke these people's hearts. They think I want Allison dead which is what they want so it was easy for me to gain their trust. 5) Can you give me an example of your favorite thing about having two identities? I love deceiving people. Having two identities allows me to do this perfectly. On one side I am a cool high school teacher who means well and will work hard with his students. This allows people to trust me and open up to me. I love when people trust me even though they dont know the real me. On the other side of me (my true side) I am just and ordinary man who wants something he cant have (which is Allison) and I am willing to do whatever it takes to get her back in her place (which is being with me). 6) What is your ultimate goal if you capture Allison? My ultimate goal when I capture Allison is to make her love me again. It is not fair that she is out there having fun when I am back here all alone looking for her. When I get her this time I will not let her escape. I will make sure she keeps her mouth shut. 7) How are you everywhere and monitor everything? I have many people working for me who help keep an eye on things. I am close friends with the Rosewood police and they keep me informed. It easy for me to monitor the girls (Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna) because I am always around them and they trust me. I have a good reputation in this town so if I ask something people are willing to give me the answer even if they are hesitant at first. many people who have endangered me that I dont know who the leader is anymore, I am just so scared and I want all this to be over. 3. Who all knows you are still alive and why those people? Only a select few people knew I was alive before Hanna, Spencer, Aria and Emily found me. Before they knew I was alive only Carla Grunwald and my mom, Jessica, knew the truth about what really happened to me (how I was kidnapped). Slowly more and more people are finding out my secret. 4. How do you feel about Emily and why? I love Emily but just as a close friend. I will not lie I did have mixed feelings for her but they have long been gone. I cant see myself being with another girl I love men to much. 5. Out your four best friends who do you trust the most and why? My favorite is of course Emily. I love how she hangs on to my every word and trusts everything say. She loves me and I love the way she loves me. I feel that she is the only one that knows the true me. She seems to be the only one who has forgiven me for the lies I have had to tell.
