MEDIA PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITY

PROMOTING [TOWN/REGION] AS THE PLACE TO LIVE WORK AND INVEST

[Council] welcomes [media organisation] to partner with us to promote [region] to over 8000 potential relocators to regional Victoria at the 2013 Regional Victoria Living Expo. This is an exceptional opportunity for [media organisation] to demonstrate its commitment to the community and promote the essential role it plays. This opportunity will ensure that [media organisation/paper] is positioned as the voice of the [region] community.

THE REGIONAL LIVING EXPO


The inaugural Regional Victoria Living Expo was held in in April 2012. Over 8000 Melburnians with a dream of making the move to regional Victoria visited the event at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, which profiled each of the regional and rural councils of Victoria. The expo was created by the Victorian Government to enable Melburnians to visit all of Victoria in one day and under one roof to find all the information they need ed about job and career opportunities, education, housing and lifestyle in regional and rural Victoria. The 8000 plus visitors reflected a wide range of families, business people and couples with genuine interest in living in regional Victoria. Most were seeking detailed information about job, career and study opportunities. There were thousands of genuine enquires about real estate within the region. Visitors were keen to meet with locals and local businesses. [Council] was one of 48 regional and rural councils exhibiting at the event. During the three days we promoted [town/region] to [number] visitors. Visitors to the expo are most interested in employment, real estate, investment opportunities and the community. To inform them we will [describe how you will promote these aspects including provision of the local paper with information about jobs, realestate for sale/lease, businesses for sale/lease etc).

THE OPPORTUNITY
To promote [region] and encourage visitors to the expo to consider relocation to [region/town], [council] would like to create a 4 or 8 page wrap of the [name of paper] to promote the region, tell stories of relocation and advertise relevant jobs and real-estate as well as other attractions and features of [town/region]. The distribution of local papers were particular popular with vistors in 2012. They looked to local papers to inform them of the community and what makes it unique and to find information on available jobs and realestate for sale or lease. To promote the community as a great place to live, work and invest and [paper] as the voice of the community we invite [media organisation] to partner with [council] to create a community wrap. Through the partnership we seek [media organisation] inkind support for creation of a wrap to promote [town] including: Design & printing of a 4 or 8 page wrap of paper dated week commenc ing 15 April 2013 Inclusion of case studies and content about [region] provided by [council] (note: the extent of editorial control/influence would be agreed as part of partnership negotiations) Provision of writing/editorial support to ensure all content is consistent with editorial quality of the [paper]. Procurement and placement of advertising (appropriate to the wrap) Provision of [no] of local papers with wrap for distribution at the regional expo.
