Ext. Arlington- Sunset Afternoon cools into evening as the sun sets over the rushhour traffic honk-honk-honking across Key Bridge into Arlington. Ext. Clarendon Metro Station- Minutes Later Metro riders stream from the station escalators. A car is parked curbside. The lowered window reveals the driver: CAMERON RICHARDS. CAMERON (Calling) Marsh? Clean cut MARSHALL HARRIS breaks from the crowd. CAMERON Marshall? MARSHALL I heard ya CAMERON ...You fed! You shaved it?! Cameron pulls out merging into traffic. Marshalls laugh thins as he runs after the car. Ext. Camerons House- Evening Cameron parks on a quiet suburban street and Marshall gets out first. RON RICHARDS and his wife ISABELLE RICHARDS wait at the door. ISABELLE Whos the new friend? MARSHALL Its that bad? RON You look sharp. I didnt know you had a chin.

MARSHALL I saw your interview. Didnt like the interviewer. RON He wasnt bad. Did you like the pun? Isabelle said it was tolerable. ISABELLE Its too chilly. Come inside boys. Int. Family Kitchen - Night The four buzz around the kitchen. Cameron grabs silver wear and heads into the dining room. Isabelle checks the oven. Ron pats her ass. Marshall tries to help wherever he can. ISABELLE Whatd I say?! Out! Of! My! Kitchen! Isabelle smacks him out of the room with an oven mitt. Int. Family Dining Room- Night The four are each three wines deep and laughing. RON Then mid-joke they cut my mike! MARSHALL Did you say anything to him afterwards? ISABELLE Yes he did, Ronnie told that fruitcake to fuck himself. The table crackles with laughter. Rons blushing. RON I wasnt micd. ISABELLE Shame you werent. I hated him the second he started.

RON I dont like any of it to begin with. Id rather be here with my beautiful family That sounded good. CAMERON You agree to too many interviews to play that. Dont use it. ISABELLE But speaking of family, whereve you been hiding Marsh? Marshall quickly spoons another bite into his mouth. He straightens his back. Gestures: Just a second, Im chewing. MARSHALL Really busy semester. Focusing on the business side of music. RON Music? Whats wrong with Pharmacy? MARSHALL Pharmacology wasnt just not what I wanted. ISABELLE I think the music business sounds exciting Marsh. You look like a narc without your beard, itll grow fast. Ext. Cams House- Night. Cameron and Marshall say their goodbyes to Ron and Isabelle and get back into Camerons car. Int. Camerons Car- Moments later CAMERON Did you make that music shit up?

MARSHALL You think I did? CAMERON No. Its just sudden. Were in the same building now and I havent seen you. MARSHALL I mean, its a new development. I have a lot of catching up to do so Ive been a shut in lately. CAMERON That makes sense. I mean, it sounds fucking cool. MARSHALL Dude it is. And Im a musician too so I completely get what the bands deal with. CAMERON Long as youre happy man. Go for it. Cameron sighs and the two shrug it off. Ext. Clarendon Station- Night Cam pulls up to the station. MARSHALL Thank you for the lift. Good sir. CAMERON Dont forget tomorrow. MARSHALL Forget such a cordial invitation? Good night to you. Marshall gets out and heads into the station. Ext. Court House Station- Night Up the escalators and into Downtown Arlington; a glowing glass mosaic of sports bars, juice bars, gyms, and buzzed

grad students. Marshall hurries down the clean streets to a row of older apartment complexes. Int. Apartment Complex- Night The elevator arrives and Marshall walks inside. Bing. Bing. Bing. Bing. The doors open. He walks a few doors down the hall and enters his apartment quickly. Locking up behind him. Int. Apartment- Night The walls are blank and painted that original coat of onthe-market white. The kitchen is barren except for a dinner table in the center. The table gives it all away. Columns of white and orange pharmaceutical containers line the tabletop. A young Hispanic guy wearing a dust mask sits with his eyes fixed on an electric scale. Thats ALEX. Just Alex. He doesnt break his gaze when he calls ALEX Late like shit. MARSHALL Nice to see you Alex. ALEX I got nine sales to make. I dont got time for bojangling-ass dudes. MARSHALL Nine? ALEX I made moves. You remember Nina? MARSHALL Shaved head?

ALEX The fuck? No. I said youd bring her some eighties. Id go but Im not about the Holiday. MARSHALL Since when? ALEX You know those doors that like, connect rooms? MARSHALL The Holiday doesnt have those. ALEX It did yesterday. Had me sweating like shit. I her told you got it. Marshall shrugs off the disrespect and the pair get to work divvying the pills from their containers to dozens of pill pouches. They load their goods and lock up as they leave the apartment. They head to the elevator, press down, and wait for the arrival sound. The doors slide open and Marshall and Alex move inside and hit the lobby button. Bing. Bing. Bing. Bing. The doors open. Ext. Sorority House- Night Marshall knocks on the door and is greeted by a pretty little Asian girl in a sorority sweatshirt who ushers him in. Int. Recording Studio- Night Marshall sits on a couch behind the mixing tables with a few band members listening to their music. He makes a subtle hand off and leaves cordially. Ext. Gym- Night Marshall approaches a ritzy gym in the heart of Arlington.

Int. Gym- Night Marshall gives one lifter a reckless mid-lift sample. It does the trick and the lifter rockets the weights back to their place-holders nodding violently. Ext. Holiday Inn- Night Marshall walks through the automatic doors and makes for the elevators. Int. Holiday Inn- Night Room 609. He steps over to the next door and knocks twice on room 610. A confused womans voice tells him to fuck off. Sounds right. He goes back to 609 and knocks. An EXHAUSTED GIRL in a sparkling dress cracks the door. EXHAUSTED GIRL Marcus? MARSHALL ...Mark, are you Nina? EXHAUSTED GIRL Shes in the bathroom. Int. Room 609- Night There are blankets piled on the floor, an empty ice bucket on the nightstand and some plates on the bare bed. Marshall cant keep his eyes off the connecting door next to the TV. NINA (O.S.) Is he fucking back?! EXHAUSTED GIRL No, its Alexs friend Marcus. Pretty NINA leaves the bathroom wrapped in a towel. Shes in rough shape. Like she showered with an angry wildcat. NINA Thank fucking god. You have no idea.

Ext. Holiday Inn- Night Marsh leaves the hotel and hails one of the roving cabs. MARSHALL (O.S.) You know the Glow Night Club? TAXI DRIVER (O.S.) Oh you turning up! They both laugh as the cab peels off the curb. Int. Glow Night Club Marshall exits the bathroom with a cute girl in a black dress. They return to a table with Alex and a few other night owls. Another round. Things get blurry. Another bathroom trip. Whos getting kicked out? Int. Apartment-Morning THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! OFF SCREEN GIRL Marshall! Marshall forces his eyes open. Hes back at the apartment spread out on a mattress with a naked girl next to him. He quickly dresses and answers the door. This is HOLLY HARRIS. Beautiful and clearly his sister. HOLLY Well you look like shit. She pushes past him and starts rummaging through his

kitchen cabinets. HOLLY Ill make breakfast. First cabinet: Empty Second cabinet: Empty MARSHALL Try the fourth one. Third cabinet: Empty Fourth cabinet: Empty HOLLY If you were actually working youd have food. MARSHALL Did you see the table? HOLLY Yeah, its nice. Mom wants you to call her. The snow was up to the windows this morning. She runs her finger along the residual power on the table. MARSHALL Please dont. Its too early Holly. HOLLY I thought it was too late to enroll in classes this semester. Howd you pull that off? This hits Marshall a lot harder than wed think. MARSHALL You called Cameron?
