Web. 13 Apr. 2014. This website provided specific information on the losses the Japanese suffered compared to those of the United States in the Battle of Midway. It showed how few Americans died when compared to the number of Japanese that died. It also showed the different effects the battle had on each of our navies. "Aftermath and Significance of the Battle." Aftermath and Significance of the Battle.EHistory, 2014. Web. 13 Apr. 2014. This website showed the losses that the Japanese suffered from the Battle of Midway. It contained the names of the carries lost and other important statistics that helped show the drastic effects of this battle in Japan. This also provided a quote from Admiral Nagumo's Chief of Staff, which showed the bitter attitude of the Japanese towards the results of the battle. "Factsheets : Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero." This military-sponsored website gave a detailed description of the fighter plane Navy Type Zero Carrier-Based Fighter. This was the main plane that the Japanese flew at the Battle of Midway. Understanding of this plane is critical to the battle, because a huge part of fighting in the air was about beating the Zero. This plane was considered superior to American fighters at the time, but with new tactics, these fighters could work in groups to bring down the more nimble Japanese plane. Hickman, Kennedy. "Battle of Midway." About.com Military History. N.p., n.d. Web. 07 Apr. 2014. <http://www.history.navy.mil/photos/events/wwiipac/midway/midway.htm>. This Navy-sponsored website had a good deal of detail about specific aspects of the battle itself. It was split into sections of various attacks in the Battle of Midway. This was important to our research because it was much more detailed in these specific events than other sources were, and it painted a complete picture of the battle. Kolyadko, Nick. "Midway 1942 : Ships & Aircraft." Midway 1942 : Ships & Aircraft. Epiphan Systems Inc., n.d. Web. 14 Apr. 2014. <http://www.midway1942.org/specs.shtml>. This website contained helpful diagrams and side-by-side statistical comparisons of ships and aircrafts. This was crucial to our tactical understanding of the battle. None of us are particularly familiar with the weaponry of WWII area naval vessels and so it was very helpful to be able to compare them side-by-side and see for instance, how many anti-aircraft guns various ships had, or how many planes could be launched off of an aircraft carrier.

Lundstrom, John B. "Appendix Fourteen." United States Navy Fighter Tactics: Appendix Fourteen. U.S. Navy, n.d. Web. 09 Apr. 2014. <http://www.centuryinter.net/midway/appendix/appendixfourteen_usvftac.html>. This website was entirely dedicated to the tactics that American fighter planes used to defeat Japanese fighter planes during the Battle of Midway. It described how the tactician John S. Thatch came up with a plan that would allow the less maneuverable, but more heavily armed F4F to defeat the Japanese Zero. Before this battle, the American moral about winning the war in the air was quite low, but after this, things took a turn for the better, in a combination of an advance in tactics, pilots and technology. Still, the development of these new tactics was the breaking point in the development towards American-won aerial battles in the Pacific. Skipper, G. C. Battle of Midway. Chicago: Childrens, 1980. Print. This book was not very detailed however it did provide a summation of the entire battle. It provided background information which was very helpful in the beginning of our research as we did not know much about the topic. It also held photos that were used in our project. Stein, R. Conrad. World War II in the Pacific: Remember Pearl Harbor. Hillside, NJ, U.S.A.: Enslow, 1994. Print. Although this source was not solely concentrated on The Battle of Midway it did provide some background information on the topic that was very useful. Additionally it held a timeline in the beginning which was very useful when creating our own timeline. Stephens, Neil. "Midway, The Forgotten Victory." RedState. Red State, 05 June 2012. Web. 13 Apr. 2014. This website was very helpful as it provided us with a detailed account of the battle. Additionally it helped me when trying to create the Goal page and the Challenges Page. Symonds, Craig L. "The Kido Butai." The Battle of Midway. Oxford: Oxford UP, 2011. 42. Print. This section of the book helped me when trying to create the page designated to the goals of the battle. "World War II: Battle of Midway - Turning Point in the Pacific." About.com Military History. N.p., n.d. Web. 07 Apr. 2014. <http://militaryhistory.about.com/od/worldwari1/p/Midway.htm>. This website gave a great chronological outline of when various events occurred during the Battle of Midway itself. It was invaluable to us in terms of piecing together the sequence of events. It also had some great statistics, including the losses both sides suffered. "World War II Timeline - Remembering Pearl Harbor @ Nationalgeographic.com." Remembering Pearl Harbor. National Geographic Society, 2001. Web. 11 Apr. 2014. This site was incredibly helpful when creating our timeline. Additionally in the beginning

of our research this timeline was helpful as it helped us place when this Battle happened in the whole scheme of things.
