Figured World: A figured world is a world that incorporates Actors, Artifacts, and discourse communities all together to create one working place. A figured world also has its own set of rules and conventions. My figured world is that of Walter White in the AMC series Breaking Bad. The purpose of the show was to not only show the difficulties of making money for a disease but to show how the main character starts off as this very likable renowned person and slowly moves into the position of this dark ruthless creature. The character goes behind his wifes and brothers-in-laws back, who is a DEA agent, and make meth for money to help cure and get rid of his cancer. Walter is also making sure his family is well off after he dies. The story is full of drug users and the 2nd main character Jessie Pinkman, who was Walterss ex-student, helps create this massive drug empire, they go as far as using other houses to make and sell the meth. As for appropriate behavior there is none, the story goes from secretive to close to being caught to running for his life and all back to secretive again. The main form of communication to Walterss secret life is through a pre-paid phone which he hides in the ceiling of his class. Any behavior that would endanger Walterss life or his family would be inappropriate at the least and in one episode the house that was bugged by his employer saved his life. I expect to find many discourse communities in Breaking Bad, the drug community, the second life community, the family community, workplace community, friend community and more. Breaking Bad not only excels in telling a great story it keeps you on edge and you cant help but watch the next episode. Actors: Actors are people who make up figured worlds and interact with the environment around them. The people below are the most outspoken characters in the figured world of Breaking Bad Walter White: Main Character of Breaking Bad, Walter is a 50 year old man who teaches chemistry at his local high school; Walter goes by Walt for short and is diagnosed with cancer in the first episode, to pay for this he must team up with his ex-student to make meth. He has a wife and two children, and is well known to the community as being scholar. During the first episode Walter has a mid life crisis and Breaks Bad, which is a southern saying of going down the wrong road. Jesse Pinkman: Other main character of Breaking Bad, Jesse is Walters ex-student who he had flunked. Jesse goes by captain cook and is well known for his chili spice version of meth. Jesse is very stubborn and does things they way he wants them Hank: Antagonist/Protagonist he is the good guy and the bad guy since he works for the DEA, he makes sure all drug circles are brought down, but unknowingly his brother-in-law Walter is going right under his nose. He is the good guy because he is the brother-in-law to Walter and if hank were to find out about Walter and what he is doing he would be mixed on what to do.

Skylar: She is the wife of Walt. She is very direct and knows what she wants. She seems to act very arrogant in the series and is always ready for payback. She is also very nosy. She and Walt have a history together, which you dont find out until later in the show. Marie: She is the wife of Hank. She is very nosy like Skylar. She is definitely a color person. She owns a purple punch bug and is often associated with the color purple in the series. She knows when something is happening behind the scenes (Intuitive). Walt Jr.: Walt Jr is a nickname for Flynn White. He goes by Walt Jr. as a respect to his dad. Walt Jr. has cerebral palsy and has to walk around on crutches to make it anywhere. He is a very social person when it comes to his friends and is no means a loner. Although you only see his friend once; he has a very cool life. Walt Jr. and Jesse never meet face to face, every other character does. Artifacts: Artifacts signify meaning of importance whether it is one or many objects they all define something and make the actors feel certain ways. RV: The RV is an artifact as it is the place where Walter and Jesse do most of their cooking. The RV is more or less a secret that Walt and Jesse hold together. The RV does break down a lot. Pants: The pants at the beginning of the episode represent how Walter runs the house in the family, but will those pants be taken away in later episodes is the question. Guns: The gun is significant because it has a way of bending other people to do what they want. Baby Supplies: This artifact signifies that a baby is on its way and the White family is preparing for a baby, in the first episode Walter and Skylar even talk about painting the room a certain color. Noble Peace Prize: This artifact is hanging on Walters wall, it signifies that Walter is not your average joe, but yet he has won a very prestigious award in the past, it shows he has brains. Brown Suitcase: The brown suitcase shows that Walter is a very formal guy and that you need to shoot him straight instead of beating around the bush. THE CAPN License Plate: Little did the DEA agents know that the person they captured was not actually captain cook and if they would of done more investigating they would have determine that the car with the THE CAPN plate would have been Jesse. Matches: The matches near the middle of the episode was Walters coin flipping at whether he really wanted to go through with cooking meth, lying to his family, and breaking the law.

Money: Money signifies a lot, in the real world and in Breaking Bad, money signifies wealth and standing. Not only that but it would also help Walter pay for chemo instead of having to pay it out of pocket and have his family live in poverty. Glass (Meth): This was Walterss first batch of meth and with his first batch he produced glass quality meth, near the best. Yellow Car: The yellow car the thugs owned showed how wild and crazy they were they wouldnt trust anybody, if you went behind their back or they even though you did you were dead. Chili Pepper: This is Jesses signature when he makes meth, it helps him know who has his product, not only that it helps with the kick of the drug. Discourse Communities: These groups of people share important ideas or meanings. Family: The family includes: Walter, Skylar, Walter Jr., Hank, and Marie. They all share connections and pasts, they would do anything for each other. Drug Community: This is where Walter and Jesse coincide they are only in this community together when Walter is making drugs. The other characters in this community are Amelio and Chris. Law: Hank and the DEA agents are a part of this group they enforce the laws that Walter is escaping from. School: This place is where Walters main job is, you can tell he is passionate about his class but due to rude students Im not too sure he likes it anymore. Car Wash: This is Walters 2nd place of work; he doesnt like his boss as his boss tells him to do things outside of his work title. His boss has huge eyebrows. Arizona Desert: This is Walter and Jesses current spot of cooking. Literacy Practices: These are ways of interacting with the figured world and we see these in many ways. Walter as a Father: Walter will do whatever he has to, to help his son. He went as far as assaulting a young adult who was harassing his son. Walter as a meth cooker: Walter makes sure his work as a meth cooker is precise; there is no margin for error. Not only that the way he does business is quite interesting, we will find this out in later episodes.

Walter as a worker: Walter is a much laid back worker as an older fellow he isnt as hard working as most workers, he goes as far as telling his car wash boss to fuck off. Jesse vs. Walter: Even though they arent from the same group or even close in age. They look out for each other, even if it means killing someone in the process, they more or less act like brothers to each other. I chose these three episodes because they were the most eventful in the first season and showed a lot about the characters in the series. Observation 1-Pilot: 0:00 minutes We see shots of scenery and some pants (a) flying in the wind. Walter is driving an RV (a) and wearing a gas mask. Jesse is passed out in the passenger side. RV swerves and crashes into a pit. Walter (A) comes running out completely naked and throws his gas mask. Two guys lay passed out on the floor, Jesse still remains in the RV. Walter starts to record himself telling the law enforcement his name and address, talks about killing. Mentions his wife Skylar (A), and Walter junior (A) and starts talking to them. You hear sirens in the background. Walter pulls out a gun (a) from his underwear and stands in the middle of the road. Black screen and intro plays. Three weeks early. Walter and his wife Skylar are in bed, its 5:02 am. It appears as if he cant sleep. Baby supplies (a) are shown, signifying that a baby is on the way or already born. He is working out, and coughing. He has won a Noble peace prize (a) it is hanging on the wall. It is his birthday, he is 50, and it is spelled in veggie bacon. Walter junior walks in on crutches, he is disabled. There was no hot water in the shower. Walter Jr tells Skylar to buy a new water heater. Walter is coughing a lot. Walter Jr wants real bacon. Skylar seems a little bossy. Walter is in his car going to school as a teacher. Walter jr. goes to the same school. He has a brown suitcase (a). He is a chemistry teacher. His class is very shy, and not very smart. Lectures on chemistry. Shows off fire experiment. Theres a couple in the back flirting. The male that was in the couple is very rude to Walter. Walter is in his office taking his pills. Walter also works at a car wash place. His boss is an Italian male with big eyebrows. Someone quits, so now Walter has to wash cars, still seems to be coughing. The male couple takes a picture of his teacher washing his car. 10:00 minutes. Walter is in his car and his glove compartment isnt working. He is surprised for his birthday and is welcomed by his wife and a ton of people. Skylar is pregnant with her friend Marie. Hank the DEA agent is teaching people about a gun (a). Hank gives Walter the gun and he comments how heavy it is and how it wont bite him. Hank makes a toast. Hank it late for something. The DEA makes a meth bust. Walter asks Hank how much money the meth bust made. Its easy

money until we catch you Hank. Hank asks Walter to go on a ride along. Skylar tries to arouse him. They start talking about the day. He will paint the baby room. She asks if he is asleep. She is still trying to arouse him. Walter is rolling a blue tank in the car wash and sees a girl in green. He starts coughing and then passes out. Sirens are heard and you see an ambulance. The paramedic asks Walter take a few breaths, it doesnt sound great at all. Asks Walter is he is a smoker, he isnt. Walter is given a cat scan. He is spacing out to what the doctor is saying, he has mustard on his collar. Walter has lung cancer, in-operable. Best case scenario, with chemo he will live a couple of more years. Skylar is on the phone. 20:00 minutes. Walter is looking for something to eat; she asks him if he used a certain credit card. Walter is spacing out when he works at the car wash. His boss seems to always be on the phone. His boss tells Walter to help outside. Walter tells him Fuck you, fuck you and your eye brows. Walter messes a lot of things up. Walter is lighting matches (a) and flicking them into his pool. He picks up the phone and calls Hank about the ride along. Walter is sitting in the DEA card with a vest on. The house they are about to bust in the one on the far right. Walter and his coworker make a bet on what ethnicity he is. SWAT DEA agents storm the property. They wear respirators so they dont inhale in the fumes. The house has a ton of drug making items in it; the house is also a mess. House is clear and suspect is in custody. Hank wins the bet. Walter wants to go in and see the actual lab. Jesse is seen half naked on the roof, he is fleeing the cops and falls off the top of the house, he was with a girl. Jesse and Walter make eye contact and Jesse makes a shh sign and runs off. Jesse gets into his car and drives away; the license plate says THE CAPN (a). Its night time and Walter has driven himself to jesses house. Jesse gets a tire jack to defend himself. Walter tells Jesse that its him and that he is alone. Jesse asks how he was found-Filing system. Jesse owns the house and asks why Walter was here. Walter starts bringing up meth and the money (a) to be made. Not only that, but Jesse was his only option and the only one who he could truly trust. Talks about him being captain cook. Jesse tells Walter to go away. Walter is telling Jesse that he could be his new partner. Jesse cant believe it. Walterss ultimatum, either he works with him or he is going to be turned in. 30:00 minutes. Skylar and Marie and wrapping glass. Skylar rights short stories. Marie asks if she can read them and is turned down. Skylar isnt even 40 yet. Walter starts collecting the high schools equipment for drug making and drives to jesses house. Jesse is just sitting there and waiting. Walter starts talking to Jesse about all the equipment. It appears as if Jesse doesnt know a lot about making meth. He says cooking is art. Walter tells him that he is going to make it 100 % pure. Jesse doesnt cook where he eats. RV mentions that they can use a RV and knows where to get one. Walter gets the money for the RV. Jesse asks why he was doing it, money?. Walter says he is

awake, meaning he isnt messed up in the brain or anything. Walter Jr is trying on jeans and is having a lot of issues, so he calls his dad in to help him. Walter Jr likes jeans. These kids are laughing at Walter Jr. Walter doesnt want Marie to intervene. Walter comes in and kids the kid in the knee and steps on his knee. The kid wants to beat him up, but the kid is too much of a wimp and calls him a psycho. Walter won that battle. 40:00 minutes. The Grand Canyon is shown and the RV, Walter steps out of the RV, and Jesse is seen, he is scouting. No one is seen for miles. They agree to cook out in the desert. Walter starts to strip naked, so that he doesnt get any chemicals on him. Jesse doesnt follow suit. Walter has started cooking. Jesse is recording . They are grinding up chemicals and starting the process. The process is shown in short the next few seconds. The smoke that comes out is yellow. Jesse says that the meth he made is glass (a) really good meth. Jesse wants to try it; Walter tries to stop him and takes some of the drugs to a friends house. His friend has a large fighting dog, his friend is also a Mexican, and the name is Chris. Jesse walks in and talks about the dog, Chris thinks that Jesse is there to buy. But he is actually selling. Chris likes the drug. Jesse apologizes that Amelio got arrested, and Amelio things that Jesse told on him. Walter is starting the cook again, when Jesse, Amelio, and Chris roll up in his yellow car (a). Amelio (A) is asking if Walter will come work for him. Chris (A) holds up a big bag of money. Amelio things Walter is with the DEA and they two thugs pull out there guns. Walter tells them he can teach them his recipe as long as they let them live. They tie up Jesse. Walter is already making a concoction. Asks that the Amelio doesnt smoke in the RV. He throws his cigarette out. 50:00 minutes. He makes something explode. The thugs are suffocating to death. You can see smoke in the background, a fire has started and its already too big to put out. He puts a mask on Jesse and himself and starts driving away as fast as he can. The RV cant steer very well at high speeds. We fast forward to where we left off when the sirens were coming. Walter has the gun in his hand and is pointing it at the road, he tries to commit suicide but the gun is on lock. A yellow fire truck appears (the fire) a fire car and an ambulance. Walter is safe for now. Jesse is awake now, with a headache and has a black eye. Walter is stunned. The gas he used on the thugs was phosphate gas. Walter throws up. The RV is in a ditch in the background. Walter washed all the money in the dryer. Walter tries to slip into bed, skylark is awake. She doesnt like it when Walter doesnt talk to her. He then proceeds to arouse her. 60:00 minutes. End of Episode

Observation 2-And the Bags in the River: 0:00 minutes A reddish blackish mixture is being cleaned up from the floor. Jesse and Walt are on their hands and knees cleaning with baking soda. Walt flashes back to his past year. You see Walter and a girl talking about the composition of the human body in elements. Walter and Jesse are cleaning up an acidified body. A gun is in the mixture. Walter is still coughing. The blood/acid combination is leaking through the floor and burning the basement, a man is also tied up in the basement. The elements combined dont make 100%. The lady offers if the remaining percentage is the soul. They are disposing of the liquid in the toilet. Intro Scene Walterss house is showing with Maries Blue beetle parked in the driveway. Marie completely hates the shoes she bought, although she does like the support. Walter jr. get a call from his friend. He leaves while Skylar tells him to stop acting like a thug. Skylar is painting while she is pregnant. Skylar infers that Walter is smoking pot (when he was really just lying to her). Marie thinks she is talking about Walter Jr. Walter and Jesse are spraying off all the blood that is on them. Jesse gets the meth they had made and starts to smoke it. Walter emptys Domingos feces into the toilet. Domingo tells Walter to turn around and look at him and complains about how he wouldnt do it to his worst enemy, It is degrading. Domingo is neck chained to a poll. 10:00 minutes He begs Walter to kill him, but thinks he doesnt have it in him. Jesse has told Domingo everything about Walterss life. Jesse has a big mouth. Domingo thinks that this isnt Walterss place of work. Walter is pissed, he slams the bathroom door where Jesse is down, throws Jesses pipe and throws the meth in the toilet. Jesse fishes it out and drops it out a window. He runs off to go get it, Walter coughs going down the stairs and is immobilized. Jesse is getting into his car to leave. Walter pulls him out. Jesse is telling Walter to do his job, because they flipped a coin. Jesse storms off in his car Marie is in a shoe store, with a very rude worker. Marie gets a call from Hank. Hank is currently working with Mexicans. Marie tells Hank that Walter Jr. is smoking marijuana. Marie is telling Hank to try and defer him from it. The rude worker tells Marie that she needs to wear footies. Marie doesnt listen, really likes the shoes, and walks out without paying for them.. The Crystal Palace is shown (A motel) this is where all the druggies live. Hank asks Walter Jr. if he likes what he says. He doesnt. Hank starts talking about the gateway drug marijuana getting them started on meth. Hank starts screaming at this very distraught looking woman. Hank is very rude to her. He asks Wendy (the girls name) , her name and how much she charges for a Wendy and asks if shes on the pipe or needle. Her teeth are rotted and she is definitely on the pipe. Hank asks if she smoked anything else, and she returns

Jesse is all paranoid about getting caught by the cops. 20:00 minutes Walter is in his bathroom trying to decide whether or not to kill Domingo or not. He makes a list about why he should and shouldnt. Walter calls Skylar lying to her about not being there because of work. Skylar knows that Walter isnt working for the car wash anymore. Skylar had called his former boss. Skylar tells Walter to stay wherever he is tonight, to stay there. Walter starts to make a sandwich for Domingo and is nice enough to cut off the crust. Walter genuinely doesnt want to kill this guy. He walks down the stairs coughing up a storm. Domingo has a very dull face. Walter passes out and the plate breaks. He stands up. Walter wakes up, and Domingo didnt think Walter was coming back. He was out for 15 minutes. Walter tells Domingo he has lung cancer and goes and makes him a new sandwich. He gets beer this time. Domingo thinks that Walter might poison him. 30:00 minutes Walt rolls him a beer and starts talking to him about him being crazy 8, he tells him his real name is Domingo. Walter tries to build rapport with him, but Domingo tells him that him trying to get know Domingo will make it harder to kill him. Walter says hes looking for a good reason not to kill him (sell him). Domingo lies to him by saying that he will forget all about. Walter wants him to convince him. Domingo is from ABQ, he studied Business Administration. He was going to study music originally. His dad owns Tampico furniture. Walter bought a baby crib from his dad and he bought the stupid extended warranty from him. Domingo worked there all his life until he had enough of it. Walter hands him another beer. Domingo asks if Jesse knows that Walter has cancer. Domingo is the only one who knows. Walter isnt ready to have that conversation yet. Its why he is cooking meth, to get money for his family. Domingo offers to write him a check if Walter lets him go. He repeats that this type of work doesnt suit him and that he can help him before its too late. Walter doesnt know what to do. Walter goes and gets the key. As he drinks his last beer, he starts to put the pieces together (Literally) he takes the broken plate that he had dropped and pieces them together, there is a long piece missing. Walter looks but he doesnt find that missing me piece. Domingo must have it. Walter creepily comes down the stairs and tells Domingo to turn around. Walter asks him if hes not agree, he says no, Walter then proceeds to choke him with the neck chain. Domingo stabs him with the broken piece of plate. 40:00 minutes He drops the piece of plate and slides down the poll. Random shots are shown. basement. Walterss class is shown and a substitute walks in, she is going to show a video on carbon. The DEA finds where the fire started; Hank is looking for any drugs. He finds some behind the radio. Somebody killed there snitch. Walter is above a bridge on the highway. Flash back again, she mentions the soul is the missing part. Walter says theres nothing but chemistry there. Walter walks in to his house, and Skylar is on the bed looking very sad. Hes going to tell her that he has cancer 50:00 minutes End of Episode Observation 3-Grey Matter: 0:00 minutes Jesse is turning in his resume to a potential employer. The position is a no-experience position. Jesse is confused as to what position he is applying for. Jesse doesnt meet the requirements for the job he wants. Instead he will be advertising in a money suit. Badger is the one currently working in that suit. Badger catches up with Jesse. Jesse asks why Badger is doing the job. Badger is on probation, he shows Jesse some of his sign moves. Badger wants Jesse to hook him up with some crystal. Jesse tells him that he is going into retirement to save himself from losing money to freeloaders like his friends. He tells Badger the reason why he quit was because of his partner and himself doing all the work. Badger tells Jesse that he can hook him up with sudo (the main ingredient in meth). Badger offers to partner up. Jesse is still looking for a place to work. Intro Theres a gift on Walts dash in his car it is for his friend Elliot. The invitation to Elliots party said no gifts, but Walt still decided to bring it. The party is a very elegant party. There are a ton of gifts at the party, regardless of the no gifts note. There is even a gift taker, to take the gifts to the gift location. Skylar points out Elliot. Elliot is pleased to see Walter and Skylar on his birthday. He also comments on Skylars pregnancy and congratulates her. Gretchen, Elliots wife comes over and does the same. Skylar is due in 10 weeks and that the baby will be a girl. Someone calls for Elliot. Walter looks around Elliots very big house. He finds the library. There is a magazine on the wall stating Grey Matter. Walter is still coughing. Walter goes back to the party. He sees an old friend. Apparently Walter is good at crystallography. His friend says This is the White in grey matter, referring to Walters last name. Elliots real name is Schwartz Black, so they combined the Black and White and thats where you got Grey Matter Technologies. This business is very profitable. Walters friend-friend asks what university Walter teaches at expecting a very smart man to work at a university, instead he works at a High School.

Elliot is opening his gifts and his first gift is a signed Stratocaster (Guitar). It is signed by Eric Clapton. 10:00 minutes Elliot is opening Walts gift. It is yum good rum; it is a food that they ate months straight in college. Elliot is convinced those noodles contributed to their success. Elliot loves his gift from Walt. Elliot is joking around with Walter on his patio. Walter invites Elliot and Gretchen over for dinner. Elliot tells Walter they should work again, he offers Walter a job. Walter discusses his problems with students not understanding chemistry from High School. Walter declines Elliots job offer, and confesses that he has cancer to Elliot, even though Skylar already told Elliot about it. Walter is not happy that Skylar told Elliot that he had cancer. They get into Walters car and drive off.. Walters family is eating breakfast together in silent. Walter Jr. is taking the bus today.. Badger arrives at Jesses house with a big bag, he proceeds to walk to the RV and asks Jesse if the holes that were caused by the thugs are bullet holes, Jesse says they are ventilation holes. Badger likes Jesses set up, he did have more until Walt crashed the RV into a ditch, he then proceeds to tell Badger what everything is. Badger brings out a lot of boxes of sudo (cold medicine). He also got a crossbow in case they see viscous animals. 20:00 minutes Badger and Jesse start the cook. Jesse cant work with Badger because all he wants to do is mess around and not help. He wants Walt back. Walt Jr. and his friend are trying to get someone to buy alcohol for them. His friends get him to ask a random guy, he ends up actually asking a cop. His friends run away and leave him there. Walt Jr. calls Hank to bail him out as his dad. When they get home Skylar is not happy and even more not happy that he called Hank instead of his real dad. Skylar suggests having an intervention with Walter.. Jesse and Badger have completed their meth batch. Jesse examines the meth and doesnt like what he sees so he throws it out. Jesse says that his customers are going to demand a certain standard. Badger then proceeds to try and scavenge all the meth Jesse threw out.. Walter comes home and the whole family is there waiting for him. Skylar tells him to have a seat.. Jesse makes another batch, still not the glass quality he was looking for, and wants throw it out. Badger freaks out and breaks a lot of Jesses equipment, Jesse throws stuff in Badgers face kicks him out and tries to start the RV. Jesse drives away as Badger is left in the dust.. We are back at Walts intervention, Skylar is talking. She is worried about the family. She has the talking pillow. She thinks Walt wont accept the money because it was how he was raised. 30:00 minutes Skylar hand the pillow to Hank. Hank cares about Walter. Hank tells Walter that he was dealt a crappy hand. it. Hank hands the pillow to Walter Jr. He thinks its bullshit, and tells Walter that he is pissed off, because he is acting like a pussy. Hes a pussy because hes ready to give up. Walter is very emotional. It is Maries turn. Marie thinks Walt should do whatever he wants to do. Skylar doesnt like her response. She is on Walterss side, and Hank agrees with her. Skylar doesnt want Walt to die, and if they wont agree with her. She wants them to leave. Walter whistles and takes the talking pillow. Walter says we want whats best for each other. Walter wants a choice in his life. Skylar asks Walter if he wants to see his daughter grow up. Whats the reason to survive if you just work; make a meal is what Walter says. Walter just wants to live the way he wants. He chooses not to do the chemotherapy. 40:00 minutes Walter is in bed and he cant sleep it is 7:32 am. Skylar isnt there. He hugs the pillow, and looks at all the books she has been reading about cancer. He is emotionally drained and depressed. Skylar is cleaning a pan. He comes up to her and hugs her. He tells her hell do chemotherapy. Skylar cant believe it. He tells her it will be ok.. Walter, Walter Jr, and Skylar are at an office. It is Walters turn. He gets ready for chemotherapy. His body is wrapped in plastic and suction sealed. Three green dots are locked on his chest. . Walter is driving and comes to a stop. As he gets out his phone rings it is Gretchen. Gretchen now knows about the cancer. Gretchen tells Walter that they are always there for them. Gretchen tells Walter that the money for his treatment belongs to him. She also asks if it is about her as to why he isnt accepting their offer. He tells her that the insurance came through and that he is going to be covered. Walter is at Jesses house. Tell me about why you start making meth knowing the risks? I started making meth because I didnt know what to think next as to when I got diagnosed with cancer. I didnt want to put the burden of a lot of debt on my wife and on my kids that is unfair. Once knowing how much money was to be made, and knowing I could out smart most of the risks. I decided that it was the only way to insure that my family would be well off after I passed Explain as to why you lied to your spouse about making and selling drugs? I knew she wouldnt accept it at first, she would tell me to stop, and beat it over my head knowing that someone else would pay for my treatment. I grew up with pride. I cant let someone else pay for something I dont deserve. She would have also looked at me differently from there on.

Cameron Gilbert ENGL 1102 Assignment 1-Final Draft 2/15/2014 Would you still have made meth if you hadnt developed cancer? Why or why not? No the only reason I did was to make sure that my family was well off in the future. My brother-in-law is a DEA agent. If he were to find out my strong relationship with him would be ruined, my family would cease contact, and I would probably be in jail for a very long time. How did you feel about killing Domingo even though he was ultimately going to kill you? It made me disappointed that even though I was going to let him free. He still would of tried to kill me, or tried to kill my family. It was for the greater good and Im glad I second guessed it when I did. Tell me about what you honestly think about Jesse at this point? At this point he is dumb. He doesnt do things right, but he is the only one that knows the business and I trust. He also listens to me and does what I say. He is more my servant than really a co-worker. I dont know as to how I will feel about him later but this is my current opinion on him.

Interview 2-Wynter Kiger: Explain your opinion on Walter this point in the season? I believe that he is under as stressful situation which makes his decision making not the greatest. I believe that he is living life by breaking the law, it makes him feel alive. I also feel like he is becoming an adrenaline junkie at this point. Explain why you think Walter breaks bad? Obviously because he is diagnosed with lung cancer and he wants to find a way to support his family. Also because he is tired of being push around and he actually wants to be in control of something in his life. If you could do anything in the episodes differently if you were Jesse what would you do and why? I would have never told the guy Tuco that his secret ingredient was chili powder. That way they would have been able to kill him in an easier manner. Explain why you think Walter chooses Jesse to work with? Since Walter does not know how to work the streets, he goes to the first guy he has contact with; which is Jesse. Also he is a former student and he knows how to contact him. He is able to blackmail him and have power over him as such. Do you think Hank likes his job as a DEA agent? Why or why not?

I think loves/adores his job. It makes him feel like he is the man. He is very prideful and he gives off a persona of a cocky peacock.
