Nathaniel Wray 1102-075 2/3/14 Inquiry Project Proposal In this project I will be researching the origin and importance

of electrical engineering. I would like to know about how it formed from massive and simple circuits to microcomputers. I would like to find out the background of how it came to be and who is important in the field of electrical engineering. Lastly, I will research the importance of electrical engineers and find out why we formed them and why we still have them today. For this project, I have a fairly vast knowledge of the basic ideas behind electricity and circuits, also a little of the background information surrounding the origin of electricity and the components. This idea is important to me because it is the job I will one day have and it would be nice to understand where it all came from. This relates to my identity because it is something I've been interested in since I was a little kid, I have always loved electronics and learning more about it all.
Comment [W2]: Subheadings would improve the readability of your proposal. Comment [W1]: This might be a lot to tackle in our time frame. You may need to narrow it down.

Bellis, M. (2013, December 20). The History of Electricity - Electronics. About.com Inventors. Retrieved February 3, 2014, from http://inventors.about.com/library/inventors/blelectric.htm I will use this source to help make the page about where electricity came from and how it was invented. Bellis, M. (2013, December 20). What is Electricity!. About.com Inventors. Retrieved February 3, 2014, from http://inventors.about.com/library/inventors/blelectric1.htm#How%20are %20Turbines% This source will help me finish the page on electricity explaining what exactly electricity is. History | Electrical Engineering. (n.d.). History | Electrical Engineering. Retrieved February 3, 2014, from http://www.ee.columbia.edu/ee-history I will use this source to talk about the origins of electrical engineering.
Comment [W4]: The MINIMUM requirement for your proposal was 3 peer-reviewed articles. As far as I can tell, none of these are peer-reviewed. Comment [W3]: You may use these as sources for your project, however since its the same author and website, it will only count as one source.

Nathaniel Wray 1102-075 2/3/14 I think fFor this project, I will build a website because I feel it would be the easiest way to present this information and be able to keep it interesting for someone who has no passion behind the subject. At the moment I can not think of any other types of projects that would be good with this topic. The audience will be anyone who would like to know anything about electricity and electrical engineering. I would like for them to at least vaguely understand where the objects they use every day came from and how it started so large and now can fit in our pockets. For the research, I will begin with what I know and begin to dig deeper and find information that will lead me to deeper questions. I have already began begun my research and I plan to work on the annotated reference list until February 18th in order to have time to ask questions and seek help if necessary. Then I will begin the actual project I hope to have the website up and at least one of the areas filled out and done by March 5th then I plan on asking questions to make sure I am on the path to getting my work done successfully then I will continue working and have the website built by March 24th in order to ask questions if I have them.
