SERVICES Geco assist ship-owners and shipyards within the maritime industry with a wide range of products. Special equipments has been developed to ensure an adequate safety and reliability. Our company designs and manufactures a wide range of plants for desalination by means of Reverse Osmosis and Evaporation, seawater pretreatment and potable water treatment for human consumption, and antifouling systems to avoid and prevent the biological growth. We understand our customers, thus we are awarded about how important is to support them wherever they are. For this reason, we also focus on strengthening our After Sales services on being able to send spare parts across the globe. EVAPORATORS Geco evaporators unit operates with a vacuum system using tubing. Our evaporators are able to produce high-quality distillate in order to maintain boiler-water levels. The energy source for producing fresh water utilizes waste heat improving energy efciency. Our Evaporators treats all water as a source, i.e. sea water, brackish water, The solution that contains the desired product can be sea water, brackish water, surface water, etc. Evaporators Geco are installed onboard to produce different waters: 1. Technical Water: intended for boilers, cooling system and any process. 2. Potable Water: Potable water is water that is safe for humans to drink. When the waste heat is not enough for operate in good conditions, the Gecos Double Stage Evaporator are the best solution for producing distillated water. Consumption of these equipments is reduced by 50% with respect to a simple stage. Geco manufactures Flash Evaporators which are employed for producing fresh water from sea water by using he source of heat from jacket cooling water from a ships main engine.

REVERSE OSMOSIS The Geco Reverse Osmosis Unit uses reverse osmosis method. Solute is retained on the pressurized side of the semipermeable membrane and the pure solvent is allowed to pass to the other side and consequently salt cannot pass through the membrane. Our RO Units can treat water to be used as potable water or intended for the industry or agriculture sector ensuring the minimum consumption. With our Reverse Osmosis product range, we cover needs from1,6 to 500 tons per day. Gecos unit are modular made. All components are installed in a common frame so only the Booster Pump, Disc Filter and Dechlorination lter are independtly supplied for the installation at the feed ow.

0.6 Water treatment

WATER TREATMENT Geco supplies a wide range of products for water treatment: MHF Rehardening lters To avoid corrosion in the subsequent parts of the ships distribution system the pH-correction of produced distillate is absolutely necessary. The pH-adjustment of the distillate is effected during its ow through the Rehardening Filter. In addition, MHF lters provides the correct hardness to distilled water. 0.6 Water treatment

WATER TREATMENT Potable water heaters Our water heater consists in a pressurized tank which incorporates electric resistances heating, thermostats and sensors PT-100 for temperature control, a safety valve, level switches and electrical controls. It also incorporates a recirculation pump to maintain hot water temperature in different pipes. Tank heaters are supplied insulated, thus ensuring a low temperature of the tank. Hydrophore tanks Hydrophore tanks are used in the fresh water system to keep the entire water circuit with the suitable pressure, in order to can supply the fresh water to different parts and heights of the installation for any purpose. These Geco hydrophores are designed to store and provide the fresh water at a pressure of 6 bar.

0.7 Antifouling system

ANTIFOULING SYSTEM The Biological Seawater contained in the sea water can cause marine growth in the cooling system. Marine growth reduces the volume of water owing through the system and minimizes the cooling effect. As a result the working temperature of the components connected to the cooling system increases. The solution is a mechanical cleaning in order to eliminate the marine groth from the piping system. Such a mechanical cleaning requires turn off the whole system, which means time consuming. Geco has developed the Geco copper ion generator to solve this problem. The Gecos Antifouling system prevents marine growth by releasing copper ions into seawater utilising a small electrical DC current. With a seawater treatment capacity from 200 to 2500 cubic meters per day. We also have ion copper-aluminium generators to prevent and avoid corrosion further the biological growth.
