Brandon James, Brennan Weaver Professor Raymond ENG 1102 2/18/2014 Semester Multimodal Project Proposal Our project

will be based on the Venus Project, which was created by Jacque Fresco. It is a plan to move from a monetary based world system to a resource based system where everyone works together for the betterment of mankind. It aims to eliminate war, poverty, hunger, debt, and unnecessary human suffering. It proposes a world where, instead of groups of people working for profit, they work to supply the worlds resources equally among us, including power and energy. We will explain the Venus Project more thoroughly and go over each individual aspect. For example we can talk about education, work, power, etc., and how all of these are dealt with in a resource based system. The original idea for this topic came from a documentary we watched. After watching it, we realized how heavily we, our families, and the rest of the world have always relied on money and profit, from our poor cattle raising great-grandparents to our military involved great-grandparents. We will include a visual aspect to our project and provide a presentation that includes gestural, linguistic, visual, and aural components. The presentation will rely visually off of a PowerPoint project which will also display the basis of our research. We will include all of our research within the PowerPoint and categorize the slides according to each aspect of the Venus Project. We will cite our research within the PowerPoint also and it will include key information

as we talk about the Venus Project. This is the most appropriate way to give our presentation because it will include a helpful visual and it will be the backbone of our presentation. The audience can refer to it for key points and information, as well as pictures, as they listen to us. We will both research the project together and possibly split different aspects of the project between us so that we can more thoroughly research them. We will work on the PowerPoint design and layout together and bring our research together into a final product. We will be trying to complete most of the research before the 24 th of March. We want to have all of the research done before we start working on it in class. Once all the research is completed we will start to structure our power point and our presentation. We ideally want to try and complete most of the power point before the 31st of March, but if we finish before 2nd of April, that would be ok as well. After completing the power point we will rehearse our presentation and go over how we want to present.
