Commissioners President Concocts Defense Strategy

For over a year, one thing has remained constant a laundry list of allegations of unethical and illegal conduct by Frederick County Commissioners President Blaine Young. However, Mr. Young has denied several, but not all, of the allegations and has frequently changed his recollection of the facts in hopes of preserving whats left of his tattered reputation and legacy. It is important to note that while Mr. Young is at the center of these evidence supported allegations, others, based on the evidence, are being drawn into the mounting vortex of suspicion and investigation such as, family members, fellow Commissioners on the Board of County Commissioners, several county employees, commercial business owners and a Maryland State Delegate. Most recently (April 21, 2014), Young penned a column for the online blog site The Tentacle, in which he publishes his latest version of the facts, concocting the basis for a defense strategy to ward off impending or in-progress investigations. In the column, Mr. Young states, Mr. Allen was at one time an independent contractor providing services to a political direct-mail firm which also did work for me. He was paid by that firm. After a while, his services were no longer deemed necessary. His contract was terminated. This latest version of Mr. Youngs recollection of the facts differs significantly from his previous comments published in the Frederick News-Post on January 11, 2014 [1]: Allen had worked as a researcher on Young's now-abandoned gubernatorial campaign. Young said he started questioning the quality of Allen's work and fired him in April 2013. Neither of the above recollections provided by Mr. Young contains a modicum of truth. But, there is a very good reason why he would now attempt to put as much space between the real facts and his facts as possible an active investigation. And where there is an active investigation, the perps scramble to concoct their defense strategy. Unfortunately for Mr. Young, his new, but probably not his last, defense strategy does not line up with the evidence. Money Laundering For Political Purposes. The facts have been published and in the public domain for over a year.[2] [3] [4] An investigation, to include not only forensic digital evidence, as well as personal interviews with secretaries and finance office personnel from Engage LLC will not only put a damper on Mr. Youngs assertions but demolish the facts as he advertises them. Other Allegations and Charges. There is a range of other allegations and charges levied against Mr. Young. While a partial list of these allegations and charges has been published and placed into the public domain [5], Young has cleverly avoided responding to all but one. This alone raises a red flag regarding Mr. Youngs guilt, leading to the logical assumption that his public remarks against these allegations and charges could come back to haunt him, and others, in an investigation, indictment and prosecution.

During several private meetings with Mr. Young, he stated that he was working on acquiring confidential courthouse records for the purpose of using information contained in those records against a political opponent. Something for Something

Mr. Young made it clear that he had paved the way for one or more persons to join the Planning Commission to increase their public visibility toward assisting them during the 2014 County Council elections. Known as the Lewinsky Defense, I did not have an extra marital affair with that county budget office employee Well, OK, maybe we have been seen around town, but we were just having lunch We are dating Mr. Young first denied the extra marital affair, then later changed his story.

Summary. Commissioner Young can run, but he cant hide. Unlike his public denial of money laundering for political purposes, the above allegations and evidence against him has not changed. It has quickly becoming the ball-n-chain around his ankle which he cannot get rid of.
