The hydraulic system is a four-pump dedicated pump system designed to minimize power consumption by precisely matching pump pressure and flow to load conditions. AIR COMPRESSOR
The air compressor system consists of a hydraulic pump, motor, rotary screw type compressor and a vertical air/oil receiver tank with oil separator. The axial piston pressure compensated pump delivers full flow when the full capacity of the compressor is being used. As less air is used, the pump automatically delivers less flow to the compressor motor until at the point where no air is used, the compressor is practically stalled and the pump is operating at greatly reduced horsepower.

STRUCTURAL
The mainframe is fabricated of high strength low alloy tubing (ASTM A500 GR B). This structure provides appropriate strength and rigidity, while maintaining ease of manufacture and repair. No special welding procedure is required for field repair and or modification. Track frames are formed channel construction, using mild steel.

This unique cab design features all the comforts and conveniences to assist in making the 5000 Series Hydraulic Track Drill the most productive rigs on the market. Features include: pressurized dust-free environment with filtered circulating air sound suppressed design full vision tinted glass windows ergonomic located controls and gauges for all drilling boom and tramming functions comfortable full adjustable bucket seat with seat belt air conditioner hot water heater windshield wipers two (2) drilling lights. All these features plus the cab is specially mounted so those hydraulic cylinders can swing and tilt the complete unit. The cab swing of 480 and tilt of 300 gives the 5000 Series Hydraulic Track Drill a minimum transport width of 8-7 (2.62 m) with a swing out location that produces maximum driller visibility and and boom coverage.

The operators station is standard on all models of the 5000 Series Hydraulic Track Drill. This console contains controls for both the tramming and boom functions. On the models 5000C and 5000CL, which have complete cab-mounted controls, this station serves as a secondary position to manually control both the tramming and boom functions. Page 15

An axial piston hydraulic motor through a planetary gear reduction powers this HUFH12 heavy-duty chain feed. The mast selection is made of two (2) 7 high strength, steel channels which are gusseted and reinforced the full length, forming a strong assembly which resists both torsional and thrust loading.
The HUFH-12 has sufficient travel to change a 12 (3.6 m) drill rod inside the centralizer when using the HPR2-C Rock Drill. The feed comes complete with a drill mounting slide fitted with replaceable wear strips, 120H, 1 pitch roller chain and sprockets, hose reel, hydraulic powered centralizer, a hydraulic powered dust collector pick up pot, a compressed air powered coupling greaser and a simple manual pendulum inclinator.
