Dear Portfolio Committee, I am writing this cover letter because this is necessary for me to put in the portfolio in order

for me to graduate and obtain my diploma at Elise P Buckingham Charter Magnet High School. In order to achieve excellence, it is desirable to progress to higher education, and with said diploma it is capable to do so. Graduating high school is a fundamental step towards success in life, as I will be able to attend college afterwards. I aim to graduate and pursue a career in digital art and animation/visual effects. Over the years, at high school and at home but mostly at home, I have obtained an advanced knowledge in this field through the use of technology. The steps I have taken while in high school in order to prepare for the future consist of many. For one, I have taken more than what is necessary in terms of the minimum requirements to simply pass high school, as I have taken over 3 years of a language, 4 years of mathematics, 3 years of sciences and 2 years of visual and performing arts. I have engaged myself in extracurricular activities that not only boost my favor with the community but benefit me as a person, having been part of two of the school plays in drama club. These factors contribute to my ambitions by providing me with experience that will be useful when it comes to being in the world of work and collaborating in a community. I have talents that are very specialized towards my interests in the field of study that I wish to pursue for my career. I am capable of combining art and technology as a means of expressing my creative mind. I am able to design rich multimedia environments that communicate, inform, and entertain. The need to communicate effectively with multimedia experiences is embedded in all fields of study and work, and reaches everyones lives. Therefore, my skillset enables me to pursue a wide variety of exciting career opportunities. My academic vision following high school graduation is to attend and complete a four year college. I will most likely be going to Chico State University and go into the program of Applied Computer Graphics. However, I didnt know which college I was going to attend to for quite a while, and was too late for admissions for fall of 2014. So I will not be attending college right away, but rather, applying in August. During the free time that I have though, I will be using my skillset to develop a larger demo reel of what I have to offer so that I may show to the college I will be doing admissions for; this includes more creations and other quality work harnessing digital art and animation/visual effects. In order to make this vision become reality, I must first graduate high school, develop a show reel that accurately displays my skills in my field of interest, and finally begin and finish college. I would like to thank you for your consideration in going over my letter. I have no doubt that the skills and experience I have acquired at Elise P Buckingham Charter Magnet High School will allow me to progress in my education. With the knowledge I obtain at college, I will most definitely be able to be set in a career that I am passionate about and establish a foundation for a successful life.
