The hat is an accesory with increasingly greater role. Their presence is the protagonist in the Ascot racecourse and shares the screen with big Hollywood stars as mythical Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones, in Casablanca takes it Humphrey Bogart or Audrey Hepburn in her transformation of flowers girl to Lady of high society in the film George Cukors My Fair Lady. The CCAM (Trade consorci, crafts & fashion of Catalonia) hosts a special exhibition to commemorate the 10th Edition Stroll with a Hat in Barcelona. The exhibition presents a total of 16 unique hats of national and international designers milliners . The entrance is free and you can visit from April 10 to May 11, 2014. Hat up Stroll with a Hat Barcelona (Spain) is an event that is ten years old (the first edition was in 2005). The event is a excuse for invite all to wearing their accesory or to buy a new one. Organized by Barcelona milliners Nina Pawlowsky and Cristina de Prada. Stroll with Hat starts at soon on the corner of Rambla Catalunya and Diagonal (where the scupture of the Flirtatius Giraffe) on April 27 at 12 in the morning and this Edition ends in Plaza Universitat. More than 1,500 people have participated in this 10th anniversary. In this link you can see photographs of the previous event. Barcelona becomes an another metropolitan place of social gathering to share a day with lovers of hats and

look a great variety of hats, not only the classic shapes, but also caps, cocktails hats, turbans, toppers, bowlers and many more. It is also an opportunity for shops that will travel may expose these accesories in their storefronts. The Stroll with a hat is inspired on the Easter Parade in the city of New York where traffic is cut on 5th Avenue and people take to streets wearing their hats.

Carles Mart introduced to the study of design at the School of Arts and Fashion Techniques in Barcelona in 1987. He specializes in millinery at lAtelier-Muse du chapeux in Chazelles-sur-Lyon, France, where he learns with renowned master milliner Jean Pierre Tritz, the feather artist Nelly Saunier and milliners Claudie Linchet and Madame Claudine Debard. In 1990 he created the pretaporter brand Maku-Maku with remarkable commercial success. Carles is member of the Artisan Textile Guild since 1996, Milliner Master Artisan Certificate since 2012.

Nina Pawlowsky [Barcelona, Spain] Nina Pawlowsky consideres her self a self-taught but learning from great masters such as Stephen Jones, London and Lola Ehrlich or N.Y. C. Her especialties is stage hats, designs anf for all occasions. Together with Cristina de Prada organize Barcelonas Stroll with a hat. In 2013 she was awarded with the Millinery Master Artisan Certificate.

Charo Iglesias [Madrid, Spain] Since 30 years, she manages an haute couture workroom. In the last six years shes been training future professional of the trade. She was finalist of the National Arts and Crafts Prize 2013. Shes founding member of the Milliners Association.

MOE - Cristina Schamann [Madrid, Spain] Cristina Schamann is degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. From her workroom she sold to clients such as Barney NY, Henry Bendel, The hat shop or Jeannies Dream, as well as to private customers. Blanca del Pial [Barcelona, Spain] Her favorite phrase: Any Place I hang my hat is home, Barba Streisand. Blanca del Pial organizes every year a hat walk in her native city, Santander. She learned milliney with the teacher Charo Iglesias in Madrid, in 2003. Since 2009 she manages the website Consombrero and she especializes in hats for babies and girls.

Sietje Dekker-Bijhouwer [Netherlands] She works in Amsterdam as a milliner under the name PSHats. Her designs encompass the elements of craftsmanship, forms, varied material, colors and ease of wear. She is a chairwoman of the Ducth Hat Association.

Cristina de Prada [Barcelona, Spain] In the years 2011 and 2012 she was finalist of the prestigius international competiton Hat Designer of the year. She organizes together with Nina Pawlowsky the popular Stroll with a Hat in Barcelona. She shares her knowledge in a blog. Mercad Sombreros [Barcelona, Spain] Family business founded in 1936 by Artemi Mercad. Pepita Mercad is the third generation who run the workroom since trenty years. Mercad has devoting to the full scope of hat making: fashion, brides, theater, carnival, shows...

Les Incroyables [Germany] Feliz Weber & Dirk Seegmller The label was founded in 2007. Les Incroyables style is a mixture of historics elements, gothic and alternative style for build a modern streetwear dandy. They win several awards from the German Milliners Guild, and 2nd place at the international competition Hat Desingner f the year in 2011, in Paris.

Henar Iglesias [Madrid, Spain] A degree in mathematics, is heir to the craft of millinery of Charo Iglesias and specialized in the plume art for 12 years.

Ensombrerada [Sevilla, Spain] Carmen Aguadero She trained in dressmaking, design and industrial pattern making. Her creations are one of a kind, totally han made with high quiality materials. Noteworthy is her work for tv series: Tierra de lobos, Isabel y El Rey.

Patricia Buffuna [Sevilla, Spain] Patricia Buffuna combined studies of contemporary dance with those os fashion design at the London College of Fashion where she specialized in millinery.

Lina Stein [Irrland] Originally from Australia. The Milliner Lina Stein has been based in westport, Ireland. She is recognized as a leading light in the world of Irish Millinery through her flamboyant and extravagant hats.

Marianne Jongkind [Netherlands] She has been a milliner for more than 50 years and a teacher for 30. To celebrate her 50 years as a hat maker, the Museum De Valkhof in Nijmegen willdo a exhibition from September 5 until the end of December 2014.
