This year at Cornerstone Student Ministries we will be going through a three part series titled Questions.

The goal of this years teaching is to answer questions students have about characters in the Bible, basic Christian concepts and traditions, and certain aspects of living a Christian life. The first part of the Questions series is titled Who?, and addresses key Biblical characters. This unit of teaching spans across four months in the fall, from September to December. The goal the Who? teaching unit is to provide our students a foundational understanding of some of the key people that God works through in the Bible. The first two months of this unit, September and October, deal with key characters in the Old Testament narrative including Abraham, Joseph, Esther, and David. After working through key people in the Old Testament we will move into the New Testament narrative in November and December. November focuses on the radical change brought on in the lives of people like Zacheus and Paul through encounters with God. Novembers teaching closes with a lesson on the change brought about in the lives of lepers through Christ. This moves us into December, where we will learn about the character of Christ and the birth of Christ. The final lesson in the Who? series will be on the birth of Christ and will lead into the Christmas season. Part two of the Questions series is titled What?, and seeks to address key Biblical themes as well as Christian traditions such as Baptism. This unit of teaching covers the months of January through May. Each month is structured in a way that seeks to move students to action by exploring Biblical concepts for three weeks, building up to an aspect of a Christian lifestyle that is supported by the three Biblical concepts discussed earlier in the month. For example, the month of January starts with three lessons asking what Grace, Mercy, and Forgiveness are. These three lessons lead into the final week of teaching in January which asks what Baptism is, the goal of the month being to move students towards acceptance of Gods grace, mercy, and forgiveness in their lives. Through their acceptance of God in their lives we hope to move them towards the choice to be Baptized through the final week of teaching in January. This model is repeated monthly through May, which closes with a lesson titled What? The Future With God.. This lesson falls on our graduation weekend as we celebrate the high school seniors who are graduating, looking towards their future. Finally, part three of the Questions series is titled Why?, looking to answer questions ranging from why bad things happen to why do we serve. This unit of teaching covers our summer months, from June through August. During this unit we hope to address some of the fundamental questions regarding the Christian life that many of us have.
