Ingram English 1102 11 February 2014 Hate: feel intense or passionate dislike for someone or something In todays time hate is thrown around to describe everything, like I hate those shoes or I hate that shirt. Hate wasnt always the playful thing that is today. Hate use to be associated with racism or two opposing sides in a war. Many great leaders have spoken out against hate and strive to eradicate it from the world, but some people just cant change. I think I may be one of those people; but my hate isnt bigoted my hatred is only devoted to two things. I dont throw around the word hate lightly. I belive that you should only use it when you seriously do loath something. There are only two thing in this world that I can actually say I hate and mean it, and they are the New England Patriots and Tom Brady. Now, you may say thats such a stupid thing to hate given your definition of hate, but by the end of my essay I would like to show you why and how I justify my feelings of hatred for the Patriots when they are only a football team. Top 8 Reasons Why I hate Tom Brady and the New England Patriots

1. Tom Brady is a crybaby

2. Tom also wears uggs. 3. The New England patriots have been caught cheating or manipulating the rules multiple times. 4. Tom also cried when he didnt get drafted where he wanted.

5. Bill Belichick, the head coach of the Patriots, is the most vile man in football.

6. Tom cant back up his trash talk

7. Hes the biggest sore loser 8. The Tuck Rule Now you may say well thats a nice list but that isnt enough to just hate something, but I have a much longer list in my head but just for the sake of this paper I have decided to keep the list to my top eight reasons. Football is a very emotional sport and there is no arguing that case so occasionally players will share a tear or to show happiness, sadness, or even frustration. However Mr. Brady takes emotions to a whole new level, he cries and complains every time he doesnt get a call or he gets hit. According to ESPN Tom Brady has been sacked (a sack is when the quarterback is tackled before he passes or moves beyond the line of scrimmage) 343 times in his career, and about half of the times Mr. Brady has gotten sacked or hit he has got up walked or ran to a ref and those to begin to share words, and low and behold thorough the rest of the game Tom was under the wing of some officiating angle because from then on in games every time he

was hit it would also happen to be some kind of penalty flag thrown on the defense and it was like he had never been hit. Also in AFC championship game, the game before the Super Bowl, Tom Brady was able to keep a drive alive after a clear fumble due to a rule that has now been taken out of the rule book. The Tuck Rule states that When [an offensive] player is holding the ball to pass it forward, any intentional forward movement of his arm starts a forward pass, even if the player loses possession of the ball as he is attempting to tuck it back toward his body. Also, if the player has tucked the ball into his body and then loses possession, it is a fumble. The rule was so rarely used that the officiating in that game ruled that Toms pass was a forward pass even though he stopped his throwing motion to tuck the ball for safety. So what happened on the play was, Brady dropped back for a pass and right before he could throw the ball a defender hit him; jarring the ball loose. Now the ball was clearly a fumble because he was he was hit before the ball was even tucked. However the referees based their call on the fact that Brady had the intention of tucking the ball instead of what actually happened. His complaining and his one injury is the reason many veteran football watchers believe that football is becoming soft. Even before Tom was in the NFL he was an emotional brat. During an interview about his career he began to cry, like actual tears about getting drafted, but not for the usual reason that most draftees cry. Tom cried because he thought he got drafted to late in the draft. Getting drafted is a huge honor no matter where you get drafted, if he just cried because he received the honor of being drafted I wouldve had no problem with him doing that but the fact that it was ten years after being drafted and he still cried thats just unacceptable. This kind of complaining would surprise me from any other professional football player but since this is coming from a man who has a shoe deal with Ugg, yes Ugg the shoe company known for making womens shoes. Out of all the shoe companies out there he choose Ugg. Just like the inside of a pair of

Uggs Tom Brady is soft, so soft that he cant even back up his own trash talk. The week before a game can be a very tense and volatile so naturally players share words buts its all in the name of good sportsmanship. One week before the now Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks and Patriots were scheduled to play in a game Richard Sherman and Tom Brady shared words and Tom told Sherman to see him after the game, presumable to gloat about his victory. As it turns out the Patriots would lose the game so Sherman decided to find Mr. Brady after their game and Tom didnt shake his hand but just ran by Sherman like he wasnt there. This isnt a far stretch from what Bill Belichick does after he loses. Head coaches shake hands after every football game no matter how much you dislike the other coach, not Belichick he just runs back into the locker room and answers questions from the press. Belichick also is known for being emotionless which is true and that just isnt normal. Football is supposed to have some emotions but when you take those out its just weird. The Patriots under Bill Belichick have been caught cheating. The patriots sent an employ to a closed New York Jets practice to record it that week the Patriots knew all the plays that they would run that week. Another time back in 1982 the Patriots called for a snow plow to come on field and clear snow so the Patriots could have a clean place to kick, this was also in the closing moments of the games and no snowplow had been used until that moment in the game. The Patriots would kick the game winning field goal right there. So as you can see the Patriots as a whole are a corrupt organization and I hope you can see where some of my hate comes from.
