Main Lesson Aims (what you hope the learners will achieve or be able to do better after your lesson)

Building short sentence that includes a subject who and a verb what. Expanding sentences to answer where by including a location.

Personal focus: in this lesson I am working on

Prior Knowledge (Refer to what you think students already know/need or can do)

Students are familiar with the weather seasons and their matching clothing.

Language Problems students may have

problems with building a short sentence that contains (subject+ verb)

Reviewing Task: T. will have 4 students standing outside the classroom wearing different pieces of clothes (each girl represents a specific season) The whole class will be invited to come outside and see each one of the four set-ups. They will be asked 2 questions (who is this? and what is she wearing?) The goal is to make sts create short sentences containing a subject and a verb orally

Objective 1: reviewing the first 2 components of a sentence (who & what)

sts. will be making short sentences answering (who & what).

Students will go inside the class and T. will display previously taken pictures of their friends in their set-ups.

Objective 2: expanding sentences to answer where?

Core

T. - sts

T. will write the sentences that the students had made earlier next to their pictures (e.g. Meera is wearing a coat, scarf and gloves). Introducing new element: T. will ask students to guess a name of a country that has a snowy season and ask them Where was Meera standing? Students are already familiar with countries and their known seasons. They will be asked to include those country names in their sentences in order to expand them.

T. will explain that in order to stretch our sentences the location can be added. The expected answer is Meera is wearing a coat, scarf & gloves in Chillie T. will have students upgrade their previously made sentences by adding a location .

In groups

Another activity: Each group will be given a descriptive picture with a writing board. Sts will have to describe their pictures in groups by including (who, what & where)
