studentresponsewhetherformallyassessedornot.

Aprojectcanbeasimpleactivitywithasingleresponse,orcanbepartofalargerclassroom
multistepproject.

Forastudenttopostworktotheteacherdirectedsideoftheportfolio,youneedtocreatea
pathwaybymakingaproject,evenifitisasingleshortactivity.

OSePusesthetermprojecttorefertoworkdoneontheAcademicorTeacherdirectedsideof
OSeP.

Selfdirectedstudentwork(doneonthepersonalside)isreferredtoasPosts.

Projects: Create a Project

CreateanewePortfolioprojectbyclickingonthe+iconunderProject.

Thereare4easystepstoprojectcreation.

Step1:ProjectDescription

a.GivetheprojectaTitle.

b.IntheDescriptionbox,writeasimplestepbystepdescriptionoftheProject.Youarewriting
thisforthestudentstheywillseethisdescriptiononceyouassigntheproject.Later,youcan
addavideoofyourdirectionsusingtheiPadorAndroid!Besuretoexplainwhattheproject
"deliverables"arewhatthestudentwillbeputtingontheePortfolioinresponse
tothedirections.

c.Createoneormoretagsfortheproject.Thiswillhelpyou(andothers)searchfortheprojects
oncemanyprojectshavebeencreated.

d.Attachanyfilesthatyouwantasreferencesforthestudents:pictures,listoflinks,etc.Thisis
optional.

e.Ifyouwanttomakeanassessmentrubric,checktheboxthatsays:Doyouwanttobuilda
rubricforobservationorassessment?HighlyRecommended.

f.ClickSaveandContinue.

Step3:AssignStudentsandSections

OKyou'vefilledoutthebasicprojectinformationandcreatedaperformancerubric(orskipped
it).Nowyou'rereadytoselecttheSections/Studentstowhomthisprojectwillbeassigned.

First,usethedropdownmenustoselectthemainsubjectandareaoftheproject.

Ifyourprojectisinterdisciplinary,justchoosewhatyouthinkistheprincipalsubjectthishelps
organizeprojectsinthestudentsportfolios.(BTW,iftherearesubjects/areasthatyouwouldlike
OSePtoaddpleasejustletusknow)

Nowusethedropdownmenuinthelefthandcolumn(Sections)tochooseaSectionthatwillbe
assignedtheproject.
Oncethisdone,allthestudentsinthatsectionwillappear.Usethearrowstoselectallorsome
ofthestudentsandmovethemtothecolumnontheright.Ifyouwanttoassigntheprojectto
anothersection,selectthatsectionandrepeat.

Onceyou'veselectedallthestudentswhowillgetyourproject,click"SaveandContinue."

Nowyou'rereadyforthelaststep!

Step4:SetPermissions

OK,you'vedonetheProjectDescription,CreatedthePerformanceRubricandselectedthe
Sections/Studentsyouareassigningtheprojectto.Noyou'reatthelaststepwhere
yousettheprojectpreferences.

a.Ifyouwantstudentstobeabletoseeandcommentoneachothersproject,youcanselect
ViewandComment.Otherwise,youcanselectPrivateorViewonly.

b.Ifyouwantparents/guardianstobeabletoseeandcommentonthisproject,youcanselect
ViewandComment.Otherwise,youcanselectPrivateorViewonly.(Note:
parentscanonlyseetheworkoftheirownchildren)

c.Ifyouwantotherteacherswhoareassociatedwithyourstudentstovieworcommentyoucan
selectViewandComment.Otherwise,youcanselectPrivateorViewonly.

d.Setthedatethatyourstudentswillbenotifiedthataprojecthasbeenassigned.Thedefault
dateisthepresentday.

e.Setthedateyouwishtheprojecttobedue.

f.Whenallisdone,youcanclickSaveasDraft"(andcontinuetoeditlater)orclick"Save"and
theprojectwillbeassigned

Theprojecthasnowbeenpublishedandyourstudentswillbesentanotificationthattheyhavea
projecttocomplete.

NOTE:YoucancontinuetoeditthisprojectUNTILstudentshavestartedtosubmittheirwork.
Oncestudentshavebeguntosubmittheirwork,youwillnolongerbeabletoedittheproject.

EditingProjects

Aprojectcanbeeditedbytheteacherupuntilthetimewhenstudentssubmit.Oncestudents
begintosubmittheirprojects,theprojectdirectionscannolongerbeedited.

ToeditanypartofaprojectclickonthePROJECTSicononthemainmenu.Then,clickonthe
"pencil"iconnexttotheprojectyouwishtoedit.Youcannoweditalltheinformation,add
documents,ormakechangestotherubric.GothroughallthreestepsoftheProject:Project
RubricSettingsthenclick"SaveandFinish."

StudentswillgetnotificationssayingthateditshavebeenmadetotheProject.

Notethatyoucannotchangethepermissionsoncetheprojecthasbeencreated.Youalso
cannotchangewhichstudentswillreceivetheproject.Thosetwopiecesofinformationmustbe
setwhenyoufirstmaketheproject

Note:OneofthecoolesteditsyoucandoistologinonyouriPadandEDITtheprojectonthe
iPad.OntheProjectDescriptionpanelyouwillseethatyoucanAddaVideo.You
canusetheiPadtotakeashortvideoofyoutellingyourstudentsabouttheprojectandwhatyou
