Quarter I: Self Evaluation

Your name: _________________ Your Block:

Part I: Class participation

I am getting ready to prepare progress reports and need your feedback. As you
are well aware, participation a major part of your quarter grade. Throughout the
quarter, I have made daily observations about your level of classroom
participation. Please take a minute to read the following scale and CIRCLE the
category that you believe you fall into.

You need to start reading from the bottom because each higher step includes the
positive components from the previous step—in other words, each level builds on
the next.

Top

95% Leader. If you have reached this level, you are a leader in our class. You don’t
dominate, but you help bring our class to a higher level by engaging classmates
with new ideas, by explaining something to a classmate who may be confused or
need clarification, and by including classmates with diverse views and abilities

90% Self-challenger. Student challenges oneself during class—as well as outside of

class—and demonstrates individual accomplishment (what’s one person’s
challenge is not necessarily what another person’s is necessarily)

85 % Involved. Student demonstrates consistent, active participation in class;

Student regularly volunteers, including responding to classmates’ comments and
asking thoughtful questions. Student visibly tries to be interested and committed
during class time (as well as outside of class).

80% Attentive. Student always attentive and on-point (responds to the appropriate
question) when called upon. In addition, this student listens closely to
classmates as well as teacher

Student rarely distracts classmates or talk over another person while they are
talking. Enters class like a model student. Never puts head down on desk, during
discussions or films.

of distracting others and not following directions
