Kristen D.

Baker, 28, is the founder and CEO of Kristen Baker Ministries, an organization called to
provide new and innovative ideas to the Body of Christ. Baker, formerly of Kristen Baker &
Perfect'd Praize, is back on the scene after several years with a fresh new sound and outlook on
God and music. This young influential leader is a singer, songwriter, musician, preacher and
author; but most importantly, a worshiper at heart. She is an anointed vessel of God who will go
the extra mile to ensure that the will the Lord is carried out with excellence.
The daughter of Gwendolyn Keyes Baker and George K. Baker, she graduated from Ridge View
High in 2003. During her high school years, she blossomed as a leader of young people as
she directed the Ridge View High Gospel Choir and grew the small ensemble to a 40+ member
choir. In 2005, the group took home 9 of 12 awards from the Black Music Caucus Choir
Competition in New York . Kristen went on to earn a Bachelors of Science in Music with a
concentration in Vocal Performance from Columbia College in 2008. She is currently pursuing a
Master of Divinity in Bible Exposition at Columbia International University.
In 2006, she founded Perfectd Praize, a vibrant group of young people who boldly proclaimed the
Word of God through music. A youth-initiated and youth-led non-profit organization guided by an
Advisory Board, Perfect'd Praize housed a plethora of individuals, musicians, singers, and dancers
ages 16-26. The organization brought the church, corporate world, and community together
through its efforts. Featuring Kristen's raspy yet perfect blend of jazz and church vocal tone,
Perfectd Praize released an Extended Play (EP) entitled "I Long to Know You", in 2010.


Kristen currently serves as the Worship and Arts Director for the Victorious Believers Ministries
COGIC, under the leadership of Pastor Derrick Hutchins, II. She has also served a number of other
local ministries in the city of Columbia and surrounding areas.
After exploring several musical possibilities, Kristen recognized the call of God to another area of
ministry. It is her belief that, according to Luke 4:18, the spirit of The Lord is upon me, because He
has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the
prisoners and recover the sight of the blind, and set the oppressed free. In 2013, she became an
Aspiring Missionary in the Church of God In Christ. Kristen is committed to impacting her
generation for Christ, as she blazes trails and build bridges in the kingdom of God.
