Reg. No. 6900D-MS 981015 2.1 Instructions O 9122 2684 59 D102043.DOC Instructions The VP04 Customer Specification Manual is used to specify and thus customize the VP04 control- pressure valve to meet the exact needs of the customer. The manual contains a number of main sections. The List of contents lists the different pages in the manual, together with their edition numbers. The consecutive edition number of the document is given under "Ed." (Edition). The edition number of each page can be compared with the edition number in the list of contents. The edition number of the list of contents can be compared with the product company's original document, for the purpose of ensuring that you are working with the latest edition. This document is the Instructions section of the manual. The Formula erally referred to as the Customer Specification Form) is the document in which the valve is specified by entering a code or value in each option box. Where no specific choice is made for an option, a forward slash (/) should be entered into the box. In most cases, the available options are listed below the box. Where appropriate, it may also be necessary to enter the A-variant number (see under "Viant list" below for further details). Completed Formulathe customer's specifications. The information in the formula then transferred to the specification database in our ordering system, where the customer's specification is registered and given a unique Customer Specification Number. The Customer Specification Number is made up of the product type name and a consecutive number, e.g. VP04-0098 Product type
Consecutive number The unique customer specification number clearly defines the product's functions, dimensions and construction. Note: In the event of a change in product version, a letter indicating the change generation is added to the consecutive number, e.g. first change: A, second change: B, etc. Two generations can not normally co-exist. When communicating with the product company, the Customer Specification Number is used as the product ID number. The Options list gives the list of options available, together with brief descriptions. For more detailed information, you are referred to the product manual (a copy of which can be found at every sales company). The Options list consists of four columns. In the first column is the "Item number", which indicates the box into which the selection should be inserted in the Customer Specification Form. In the second column is the "Function designation", in the third column, the "Options available" and in the fourth, a "Description" of the respective options. Pay special attention to any remarks given, since they give information about limitations and recommendations. The Variant list is a list of current variants of the standard valve. Details of variants no longer available can be found in ASM5.2.2. The Variant list contains a description of the variant's function and also states how and where it should be specified in the Customer Specification Form. The variant number (A + two digits, e.g. A03) can appear at several item numbers in the Form. There are three types of A-variant: Substitute variants: replace a standard version. Must be specified at the item No. where the standard version would normally have been entered. Combination variants: are combined with a standard variant. Must be specified at the same item No. as the standard version. Both must be entered, e.g. F+A36. Supplementary variants: a pure accessory. Must usually be specified at its own item No. The variant list gives the following information: Axx 1. Item No 2. Entry example 3. Drawing number 4. Description 5. Remarks 6. 1. A-variant number. 2. Item No. The box into which the A-variant number should be entered in the Customer Specification Form. 3. Entry example: Shows how the variant number should be entered at the item No. (see point 2). N.B. In the case of combination variants, enter standard + A-variant number, e.g. (F+A36). 4. Drawing number: Gives the number of the drawing in which the variant appears. For the drawing, you are referred to the product manual. 5. Description: Describes function and technical characteristics of the variant. 6. Remarks: Important information such as recommendations and limitations is given here. Even obligatory options at other item Nos. are given here.
