PROJECTS

Self-Parking Car with Collision avoidance system SJSU, Fall 2013
Designed an efficient algorithm in which a robotic car can search for an available parking slot and park itself automatically in three different
parking schemes, namely-parallel parking, forward perpendicular slot parking and reverse perpendicular slot parking.
Formulated an integrated collision avoidance system, in which the car automatically starts to slow down if the distance between the car & an
obstacle in front or rear goes below a preset threshold, eventually coming to complete halt & achieving a response time of less than 2 sec.
Implemented the system using the Arduino Uno board and the Arduino software. [Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuDB1JpevhI]

Indoor Wireless Positioning System SJSU,Fall 2013
Devised a system which is used to track the position of the wireless RF module (RN 171-EK) with 80% accuracy within a confined workspace.
Mapped the entire workspace and the dynamic real time position of the module was displayed using the graphical tool OpenGL.
Measured the wireless signal strength from the pre-configured access points and computed the distances with the help of IEEE 802.11 b
standard and Jacobian algorithm to determine the position co-ordinates. [Video Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSg2WN8EiKI ]

Color Identification and Segregation Automation System with pick and place robotic arm Mumbai University, 2012
Designed an automation system that involves segregation of objects placed on a conveyer belt on the basis of color (R-G-B) and weight (Piezo-
electric weight sensor) after which they are placed in their preprogrammed position with the use of a pick and place robotic arm.
The project also included counting of objects of different colors, discarding defected objects and displayed them on a LCD display. We
integrated a data logging system using the UART protocol to monitor & analyze system performance.

Server-Client System for Text Processing SJSU, Fall 2013
Programmed a multi-threaded server which was capable of servicing multiple clients. We also designed multi-process clients; different
processes for sending text files and collecting statistics & performance characteristics respectively.
Developed a server application (convert an arbitrary size text file from upper case to lower case and vice versa, count number of characters,
words, sentences, etc.). We tested and verified our system for accuracy and achieved optimized performance for text file sizes less than 10kB.
Wireless Communication System using Huffman Coding and Linear Block Coding SJSU, Fall 2013
Implemented the Linear Invariant Synchronization Algorithm (LISA) using a 32 bit synchronization field and used Huffman coding technique to
achieve a code length compression of 47.82%.
Realized the Linear Block Coding Technique for error detection and correction, capable of detecting and correcting 1 bit errors.
Developed the system using the RN-171 EK wireless module to achieve wireless communication using the IEEE 802.11 b standard.
RELEVANT INTERNSHIPS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Programming Intern (Embedded Systems) at THINKLABS-SINE, IIT Bombay Summer 2012
Acquired training on the Atmega64 microcontroller, its programming & integration with different sensors & displays, communication
protocols-UART, analog signal processing using ADC and other applications.
Successfully secured an A grade in the internship project and report on Digital Timers.
