Introduction

Introduction
This manual will include three different types of cookies that are made from scratch such as
chocolate chip cookies, gingerbread cookies, and Easter piata sugar cookies. These three
cookies range in difficulty. Chocolate Chip Cookies being the easiest, Easter Gingerbread
Cookies are intermediate and the Easter Piata Sugar Cookies are the hardest. This manual will
include everything that is needed to make each individual cookie. It will provide a shopping list,
utensil list, recipe and instructions along with some helpful tips and pictures. For each step there
will be a picture that will describe that step.

How to bake chocolate chip cookies

Chapter 1: Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
Baking Utensils
Baking sheet
Mixing bowl
Whisk
Parchment paper
Timer
Measuring cup

Baking Ingredients
1 (12- ounce) bag of semisweet or milk chocolate chips or chunks
cup or 1 stick of unsalted butter
cup of dark brown sugar
2 cups of all- purpose flour
cup of sugar
teaspoon of baking soda
2 large eggs
1-teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of fine salt

Baking Process
1. Place a rack in the middle of the oven and preheat the oven to 375 F.

2. Spray non-stick spray or place parchment paper on the cookie sheet. Set aside.

3. Place the butter in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on medium heat for
10 seconds, or until butter melts.
An alternative to melt the butter is to use the stove and a small
saucepan. Once butter has melted, let it cool slightly.

4. On a large mixing bowl, whisk the dark brown sugar, regular sugar, eggs,
butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

5. In another large mixing bowl, mix the all- purpose flour, baking soda and salt.

6. Stir the dry ingredients mix (flour, baking soda, and salt) into the wet
ingredient mix (Sugars, eggs, butter and vanilla extract) with a wooden spoon.
Be careful not to stir too fast as the dry mix will make a mess.
7. Stir in the chocolate chips into the batter.

8. Wet your hands with a little non- stick spray


9. Scoop a heaping tablespoon of the dough on your hands.
10. Roll the dough into a ball and place it on the prepared cookie sheet.

11. Place the cookie about 2- inches apart on the sheet.

12. Bake the cookies for 12- 16 minutes, or until golden brown on top and chewy
in the middle.
This depends on how chewy or crunchy you like your cookies.

13. When the cookies are ready, transfer them from the baking sheet to a cooling
rack with a spatula.

14. Serve the cookies once they reach room temperature.

Two big bowls
Mixer

Decorating Utensils
Piping bags
Piping tips
Cookie cutters
Cookie sheet

Dry Ingredients
3 cups of flour
3 tsp. of ground ginger
2 tsp. of ground cinnamon
tsp. of ground cloves
1 tsp. of baking powder
1 tsp. of baking soda
tsp. salt

Wet Ingredients
1 cup of brown sugar
1 egg
cup of molasses
One full stick of butter

Vanilla icing
Food coloring
Sprinkles

Cooking Process
1. On a big bowl shift together the flour, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cloves,
baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

2. On another bowl, blend the butter until its light and fluffy.

3. Add the brown sugar to the butter and mix.

4. Add in the molasses and the egg. Blend the ingredients together until the mixture is
smooth.

5. Gradually add the shifted ingredients to the mixture. Blend together until they are
completely absorbed.

6. Take the dough out of the bowl and knead it into a ball.

7. Divide the dough into four smaller balls and tightly wrap each in plastic wrap.
Refrigerate the dough for about 3 hours.

8. Take the dough out of the refrigerator and knead it until warm. Roll out the dough and
cut it with the cookie cutters.

9. Place the cut pieces of gingerbread on a cookie sheet lined with either wax paper or
aluminum.

10. Pre-heat the oven to 350F and bake from 8 to 10 minutes.

11. Let them cool for 5 to10 minutes before icing.

Decorating Process
1. Scoop about 3 tablespoons of vanilla icing into a bowl.
2. Add 3 drops of your chosen food coloring to the icing and mix.

3. Put the colored icing into a piping bag with a round tip.

4. Trace an outline about of an inch from the edge.

5. With the piping bags or spoon, fill in the rest of the cookie.

6. Do this with your chosen colors to the rest of the cookies.


7. Add sprinkles to the desired cookies.

Ingredients
Baking Ingredients
8 drops of blue, green, yellow, purple
cup of room temperature butter
2 cups of all-purpose flour
teaspoon of baking soda
teaspoon of baking poder
1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 bag of mini M&Ms
1 egg

Baking Utensils
2 Easter cookie molds
Spatula
4 medium sized bowls
1 large bowl
Measuring cups
Measuring spoons
Electric hand mixer

Baking Process
1. Preheat oven to 350F

2. In medium sized bowl mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and put to the side. (sift
for best results)

3. In a large bowl mix butter and sugar with a hand mixer on low speed for 2 minutes and
then on high for 2 minutes or until smooth.

4. In a small bowl beat eggs and vanilla extract

5. Pour eggs and vanilla in the bowl with butter and sugar a table spoon at a time.

6. Gradually pour eggs, vanilla extract, butter and sugar into the flour bowl.

7. Divide cookie dough into 4 equal balls.

8. Put each ball into a different bowl and a different color to each bowl

9. Use hand mixer to blend color into cookie dough.

10. Make cookie dough color into a ball.

11. Divide each different colored ball in 12 even little balls.

12. Place each color in a different plate.

13. Put butter on molds (make sure to spread evenly).

14. Put one colored ball in the top half.

15. Put another different colored ball in the bottom half.

16. Follow steps 14-15 until both cookie molds are full.
17. Put in oven for 15 minutes.

18. Repeat steps 13-17.


19. Let them cool for 20 minutes.

Decorating Process
1. Take two halves that all have different colors.

2. Put about 15 mini M&Ms in 6 of the halves.

3. Then press both halves together.

Next time bake for less time.

What if I dont add enough chocolate chips?


The amount of chocolate chips is preference to the person who is making them.

What if the ginger bread dough is too dry?
Add more margarine or butter

What if the ears break off of the bunny?


Seal it with icing to cover it up.

What if the cookie dough ball are too dark?
Colors are a preference.

If the Easter egg cookie cracks?


Press both halves together to seal.
