Sunday Services
Bible School 8:45 a.m.
Worship 10:00 a.m.
Evening Worship 6:00 p.m. On May 17 th - 18 th , we are privileged to host the Unleashed for the Unreached Prayer Wall at Fifth Avenue.
On May 17 th , you are invited to hear Ray Linn speak at our 8:45 prayer breakfast. After breakfast, we invite you to participate in a prayer walk through our building, where we are asking the congregation to pray about very specific needs. Then from 1-5 p.m. on May 17 th , the community will be in the building to see the Wall. The entire weekend will be filled with activities for our members and the community. We need you to join us as we seek to reach a goal of 200 in our Sunday morning worship service. Who will you invite so that their eyes will be opened to the need of reaching the unreached people groups and tribes for Jesus? There are still some 7,000 tribes that need to hear the name Jesus for the first time. Keith Dimbath, from Lifeline Mission, will speak at our morning worship. Then before and after the service, you and your friend can experience the Prayer Wall together.
Its going to be a great weekend. Please plan to join us! Have questions? Call Brad at 740.550.9882.
THOUGHTS FROM BRAD
This is it! All the planning is complete. The speakers are prepared and the food has been planned. The only thing left now is for you to show up and pray on behalf of those in this world that need Christ. Will you do it? Will you attend a prayer breakfast at 8:45 on Saturday, May 17 th to receive a challenge by Ray Linn? Will you invite a friend out on Sunday, May 18 th
for our morning worship to hear Keith Dimbath preach and to experience the Prayer Wall with you? The ball is in your court. What will you do? Many have been praying all along that life change will take place in your heart and in the heart of this church because lost people matter. Its going to be a great weekend and I dont want you to miss out on any of it. Please join us. Today is the last day to sign up for the breakfast.
I want to remind everyone that this Wednesday night, May 14 th , I will begin a new adult elective entitled: Acts of God. It is based on the life of Joseph and it deals with suffering. I know it will bless you as you try to find an answer to one of lifes difficult questions: If God is so good, why does He allow so much pain in the world. Whether you are trying to find the answer to this question for yourself or someone else, we invite you to join us and to bring a friend.
I want to thank Mitch Shell for donating water for the local race yesterday. I also want to thank the Hinsons for volunteering to distribute the water at the race. Each bottle had a church label on it. This is just another way we are trying to let people know we exist in Lancaster.
This will be my last reminder for all graduates who want to be recognized on June 1 st at Fifth Avenue. Please let us know by May 18 th in the office. Thank you for your cooperation.
In His Service,
Brad BITS FROM BRO. DAVE
SENIOR SAINTS IN THE SMOKIES: I just want to remind those who are registered for this gathering; if you have not done so, your final payment is due by May 15. We have 9 folk registered. Our departure date is May 26 and the departure time will be 5:59 AM. We will be returning on Friday, May 30.
UPCOMING KEENAGER EVENTS: Watch this space for announcements regarding special summer events and trips.
MIDWEEK BIBLE STUDIES: On Wednesday, May 7, we completed our study on I Timothy. Next week, May 14, we will launch a study of II Timothy. We meet at 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM and cover the same material in each session. This is a chapter-by-chapter and verse- by-verse adventure. I would encourage your participating in whichever group best fits your schedule. (FYI: these groups will continue meeting through June.)
FINAL THOUGHT: Wisdom is knowing what to do next, skill is knowing how to do it, and virtue is doing it. If you will be graduating from High School or College this Spring, please let the church office know by Sunday, May 18 th .

Ladies Pinterest Night!
Do you go to yard sales? Do you have extra standard-sized pillowcases that you don't ever use? We are collecting new or nearly new pillow cases to make some dresses for our Pinterest Night which is Friday, July 25th. We are also asking for donations of thread, as we will be sewing these dresses for some little girls in another country. You can leave your donations by the ladies ministry room, downstairs in the fellowship hall. More information about our Pinterest Night will be given soon.
Book Nook Monday, May 19 th
6:30 p.m.
The next book for the Book Nook is Danger in the Shadows by Dee Henderson. Sara is haunted by a nameless, faceless man who abducted her 25 years ago and continues to threaten her life. Now she lives in a high-security world that keeps her safe, but leaves her lonely. She knows that falling in love with a famous man like Adam is a bad idea, but Adam wont give up and she doesnt really want him to. Over the years she has learned to find faith and security in God. Then Sara and Adam are caught in a chain of events that brings Sara face-to-face with her past. Will she be able to keep her faith in God as she seeks closure? WELCOME TO FIFTH AVENUE! At FACC, we focus on loving God, loving people, and turning the world upside down.
We are happy you chose to worship with us today. We hope you return next week and bring your friends with you. If you would please take a few minutes to fill out a Silent Roll Call Card, located on the back of the pew, you can then place it in the offering plate as it is passed. Thank you. For more information about our great church, contact our minister, Brad Seevers at Brad@new-churches.org or call him at 740.550.9882. Have a great week and may God bless your life. Core Values...
Values central to the life, mission and vision of Fifth Avenue Church of Christ are:
Christ-Centered Worship We make it a priority every Sunday to celebrate Jesus through our music. (Romans 11:36-12:1-2). We focus on Jesus through grace- based preaching and teaching & understand the Bible is our authority (2 Timothy 3:16).
Church Health and Biblical Balance Church health becomes reality when God's people seek harmony & live consistently. We expect every member to protect the unity of Christ's Church. (Romans 12:16; 1 Peter 3:8)
Global Evangelism We are constant to our founding call to worldwide evangelism, proclaiming to all that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Healer, and Soon- Coming King (Acts 20:27).
Fellowship and Ministry After people begin their journey with Jesus, we will equip them to find a ministry based upon their strengths. We want everyone to serve in some capacity. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) We also want His church to be the living evidence of His love and power to the world.
Discipleship We do not want you to "get religion" here at Fifth Avenue Church of Christ in Lancaster. We are all about teaching you that Jesus seeks a daily relationship with Him through a life of obedience. In other words, we want to see the things you are taught actually change your lifestyle & your daily decisions.
Social Conscience We place high value on the sanctity of human life, of Biblical marriage and morality, and we welcome ethnic diversity (Isaiah 56:7; Philippians 2:15-16).
OUR PURPOSE
WE EXIST TO
Exalt Gods Greatness; Evangelize Gods Work Equip Gods People Express Gods Love through Jesus Christ
OUR MISSION To Love God and Love People! How Can I Respond Today? At FACC we look to the Bible for guidance on all issues. We believe that Gods Word is clear concerning what a person must do to become a Christian. Trust that Jesus can bring you to salvation. Turn (repent) from the sin in your life. Confess your desire to make Jesus the Lord of your life. Be baptized (immersed) in water for the forgiveness of sins and to receive the Holy Spirit into your life. To make this life decision for Christ, we ask that you come forward during our commitment song at the conclusion of the Sunday message. Baptized believers are welcome to become members at FACC by coming forward on Sunday morning or by seeing our Senior Minister to discuss this further. We ask that you complete a series of Curious classes to help you better understand what you are committing to as a member. If you would like to take a Curious class, please indicate this on your Silent Roll Call Card.
