The taste of success: creating value through integrated solutions
2
D rin k in g C u ltu re : Tra d itio n a n d I n d ivid u a lity
Bottled beverages have been part of
the worlds cultural hi story for centuri es.
Today, consumers can choose from an
overwhelmi ng assortment of brands.
But, what counts i n the end i s
i ndi vi dual taste. Each beverage takes
i ts place based on patterns of
consumpti on and i ts abi li ty to sati sfy
i ndi vi dual needs: thi rst, energy,
entertai nment or pure pleasure.
Soft dri nks, frui t jui ces, mi neral or table
waters, beers, champagnes, wi nes,
li quors: customer preferences change
faster and faster. T he need to react
qui ckly to changi ng market condi ti ons
and competi ti on i s growi ng. ABB
has taken a new look at how manu-
facturi ng, supply chai n management
and busi ness processes i nteract i n
regulated i ndustri es.
O ur team understands the needs of
the beverage i ndustry because of our
long-term partnershi ps wi th worldwi de
manufacturers of alcoholi c and non-
alcoholi c beverages. We can draw
on more than one-hundred years of
experi ence wi th manufacturers of retai l-
ready, packaged, consumer brand-
named products, as well as compani es
that grow and convert raw materi als
i nto i ngredi ents and beverages.
T he result?A tai lored offeri ng of
products, appli cati ons and servi ces that
support the deli very of an outstandi ng
vari ety of beverage products that are
constantly transferri ng and evolvi ng.
Just as i ndi vi dual as the consumers
choi ce i s the i ndi vi dual attenti on we
devote to our customer partnershi ps.
Fit for the future
Tough competi ti on, ti ght margi ns, pri ce
wars and waveri ng sales predi cti ons
whoever wants to wi n i n todays
consumer goods i ndustry needs not
only stami na and flexi bi li ty, but a
crystal ball to predi ct future trends.
T hats especi ally true i n the beverage
busi ness. New concepts, products and
tastes are conti nually bei ng developed
( li ght, energy, probi oti c) , and all
of them are competi ng for customers.
I n addi ti on, the i ndustry i s pressured
by stri ct rules and regulati ons for food
and beverage producti on, fluctuati ng
raw materi al quali ty, the demand for
i ncreased producti vi ty and capaci ty,
and the need to cut costs.
I n thi s busi ness envi ronment, i ts good
to have a strong partner. Someone wi th
broad-based experi ence and speci ali zed
know-how; someone who keeps track
of all your busi ness processes and
acti vely supports your company wi th
consulti ng, planni ng, products and
servi ces; someone who analyzes and
i ndi vi dually opti mi zes each step of
your value added chai n; someone who
ensures, even on short noti ce, the best
possi ble return on i nvestment.
O ur experti se begi ns at the level of
i ndi vi dual sensors, touches every aspect
of the manufacturi ng cycle, and then
moves beyond to complete e-busi ness
soluti ons.
