whaT opporTuniTies are we offering?
To be admitted to the Faculty of Philosophy at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski in the Bachelors degree
Program, you need to submit your Application documents.
you have a choice: to pass the competitive examination or participate in the admission process with your
results from your maturity level state exams, provided they were obtained from year 2008 on.
whaT should you do in advance?
1. Choose a course.
2. Check the entry requirements on http://phls.uni-sofia.bg/ (Courses).
3. Decide whether you will sit a competitive examination or will apply with the results from your maturity level
state exams (where such an opportunity for the course is provided).
4. If you decide that you will sit a competitive examination, you must inquire how to apply to sit the exam and
when the exam sessions are on: http://uni-sofia.bg/ (Admissions). Now you have to decide in which exam
session you will participate. It is good to know that the results obtained from the first and second exam sessions
are equivalent, as the highest one is taken for admission purposes. As already pointed out, if you prefer, you can
apply with your results from your maturity level exams if you believe it is more beneficial for you.
5. Check your accommodation options in Student Halls of Residence on: http://uni-campus.net/. This may be
very important to you.
6. Examine the opportunities for getting a scholarship on: https://www.uni-sofia.bg/ (Students / Scholarships).
It might also be very important to you.
7. In all cases you should submit documents for taking part in the admission ranking.

2. The second step is to validate your e-registration by submitting the required documents for admission ranking
to the Information Centre of the Rector. For this purpose, you must submit the following official documents:
proof of Identification;
an original and copy of a Diploma/Certificate for completed secondary education;

status.
Please note that the original diploma/certificate will be returned immediately after verification with the copy.
Please note that graduates of non-Bulgarian schools need to submit a Diploma/Certificate legalized by the
Ministry of Education and Science in which their grades are recalculated on a scale of six grades for the
individual subjects.
It is important to carefully fill in your card with the courses you have chosen. Firstly, you need to enter your
course of preference and then arrange all the rest in descending order of preference. This is important because
after submitting the application documents, amendment to the order is not allowed. Arrangement of courses in
order should be guided solely by your desire and not by the exam results.
