A 3e) 4ogic Ser%er clster consists of mltiple 3e) 4ogic Ser%er instances rnning
simltaneosly and &or(ing together to pro%ide increased scala)ility and relia)ility"
The characteristics of the &e) logic clster are5
2onsists of 'ltiple 3e) logic Ser%er instances to impro%e relia)ility"
It appears to client as a single instance"
2lster can rn on a single machine or on different machines"
'ore instances can )e added/remo%ed to an e6isting clster
All the ser%er instances in a clster mst rn the same %ersion of 3e) logic Ser%er

A domain is an interrelated set of 3e) logic Ser%er instances/resorces" Domain is
managed as a nit" The &e) logic instances in the domain can )e clstered-
nonclstered- com)ination of clstered 7 nonclstered" 8ne &e) logic ser%er
instance acts as an Admin Ser%er"
Domain also contains the resorces 7 ser%ices re9ired )y &e) logic ser%er
instances" The resorce incldes 'achine definition- optional net&or( channels-
connectors- startp classes etc"

The administration ser%er is a &e) logic ser%er instance in a domain that configres
and manages the &e) logic ser%er instances in that domain"
In a single domain there &old )e a single Admin ser%er" 3hen an admin ser%er
starts it loads the config"6ml file for the domain" Admin ser%er mst )e rnning
&hen the configration is modified"
In a typical prodction en%ironment that contains an Administration ser%er and
mltiple &e) logic ser%ers" 3hen a ser%er instance is started then the admin ser%er
is started first" So each 7 e%ery ser%er contacts the admin ser%er )efore it starts"
