Pentru actiuni care se desfasoara in momentul vorbirii ( now )
Pentru actiuni care se desfasoara in jurul momentul vorbirii ( these days)
Pentru un program personal cu valoare in viitor ( next year )
Adverbe de timp : at the moment , in this moment , at present , next..

Se foloseste cu urmatoarele expresii de timp :

Exp : What were you doing yesterday at 4 oclock ?

2)Pentru doua actiuni din trecut simultane.
Exp : I was eating a sandwich while my sister was listening to music .
3)Pentru o actiune din trecut in desfasurare si care a fost intrerupta ( past simple tense )
Exp : I was sleeping when you came .
