2. Geoffrey Kamworor KEN/1992 28:00 Nike 2014 World Half Marathon Champion and former world junior cross champion Geoffrey Kipsang Kamworor ran the fastest half marathon of 2013. His personal best of 58:54, set in RAK this year, ranked him number one on the IAAF top lists. Geoffrey will come to India for the fourth time. He won the Bangalore 10k in 2012 and was runner-up in the 2011 and 2013 Delhi half marathon. Thomas Ayeko is a Ugandan long-distance runner. His international debut came at the 2010 IAAF World Cross Country Championships, where he helped Uganda to the junior bronze team medals, by placing 18th individually. In 2011 his junior career took off as he was the junior silver medalist at the 2011 IAAF World Cross Country Championships. Later that year he won bronze medals on the track in the 5000m & 10,000m at the 2011 African Junior Athletics Championships. Ayeko stepped up into senior ranks in 2012. At the 2012 Summer Olympics he competed in the 10,000m, finishing 16th overall. After his Olympic debut, he began 2013 with a strong cross country campaign by winning the Antrim Cross Country before taking second at the Cross de San Sebastin. He was runner-up at the Ugandan 10,000 m championships and went on to place eleventh at the 2013 IAAF World Championships with a personal best run of 27:40.96 minutes. He made his half marathon debut at the Great Birmingham Run in October and won the race in a time of 1:02:32 hours.
