Last years winner of the TCS World 10k Alex Oloitiptip is happy to return to the streets of
Bangalore to defend his title. After his victory in Bangalore, Alex made his half marathon
debut in Luanda where he was runner-up in a competitive field. Now he has made his move
into road races, his track career is behind him.

2014 World Half Marathon Champion and former world junior cross champion Geoffrey
Kipsang Kamworor ran the fastest half marathon of 2013. His personal best of 58:54, set in
RAK this year, ranked him number one on the IAAF top lists. Geoffrey will come to India for
the fourth time. He won the Bangalore 10k in 2012 and was runner-up in the 2011 and 2013
Delhi half marathon. Geoffrey is also the star in a movie called the Unknown Runner, a
story which gives the viewer a good picture of daily life of a Kenyan athlete growing up from
talent to world star.

Although Kindes athletics career started only two years ago, Kinde made a huge
progression, especially at the 10k. After finishing fourth at the 2012 World Junior
Championships, he improved his personal best to 27:36 in Prague last year.

Najim El Qady MOR/1980 27:42 Mizuno
Najim started running when he was in college. He won the World University Cross Country
Championship in 2008. After that he became professional runner to support his family,
which is his full time job now. His main goal is to make the national team for the 2016
Olympic Games. His preparation for Bangalore is going very well and if the weather
conditions allow him to run vast, he wants to try to run sub 28:00.

8. Thomas Ayeko UGA/1992 28:02 Puma

Thomas Ayeko is a Ugandan long-distance runner. His international debut came at the 2010
IAAF World Cross Country Championships, where he helped Uganda to the junior bronze
team medals, by placing 18th individually. In 2011 his junior career took off as he was the
junior silver medalist at the 2011 IAAF World Cross Country Championships. Later that year
he won bronze medals on the track in the 5000m & 10,000m at the 2011 African Junior
Athletics Championships. Ayeko stepped up into senior ranks in 2012. At the 2012 Summer
Olympics he competed in the 10,000m, finishing 16th overall. After his Olympic debut, he
began 2013 with a strong cross country campaign by winning the Antrim Cross Country
before taking second at the Cross de San Sebastin. He was runner-up at the Ugandan
10,000 m championships and went on to place eleventh at the 2013 IAAF World
Championships with a personal best run of 27:40.96 minutes. He made his half marathon
debut at the Great Birmingham Run in October and won the race in a time of 1:02:32 hours.

Aziz Lahbabi won his first international medal at the 2010 World Junior Championships
taking the third place in the 5000m. After some strong years on the track, Aziz made his half
marathon debut this year in Marrakesh. Only two months later, he won the Rome-Ostia half
marathon in a new Moroccan record of 59:25.

Vincent won his first international medal at the WC Cross Country in 2007 where he became
second in the junior race. In 2011 he took the bronze medal in the senior race. Vincent was
among the bests track athletes for the past few years. In 2013, he ran the 8

the year on the 10.000m. So far he has run 11 times sub 13:00 in the 5000m on the track.
The 10.000m at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow will be his main goal this year.

11. Jeffrey Eggleston USA/1984 28:34 Adidas
Jeffrey, member of the New York Athletic Club, is a self-coached athlete who lives and trains
in Boulder, Colorado (elevation 1655m). He trains about 180-200km per week, up to 250km
per week in preparation of a marathon. Jeffrey made his marathon debut in 2010 and
became runner-up at the U.S. Marathon Championships in the same year. He represented
the U.S. at the 2011 and 2013 World Championships. After his selection for Moscow, he
went on to lead the U.S. in Moscow with a 13th place finish. Besides running, Jeffrey is
interested in reading, cooking and listening to jazz music.

Joyce is a strong road athlete as she ran the world best time in the 10k in 2011 and the
second world fastest time of the year in 2013. Her average 10k time for her ten best races is
31:25 which shows she is a very consistent athlete. Joyce is married to her coach Erick Kibet
and trains with him around Eldoret in Kenya.

Linet is part of the Masai running family, having Moses and Dennis as her brothers and
Magdalyne as her younger sister running international as well. Linet hails from Mount Elgon
which is the border with Uganda. She won a stunning seven medals at various World
Championships, her Gold at the 2009 Berlin World Champs 10.000m is the highlight of her
career so far. Furthermore she also clinched a 4

place at the Olympic Games 10.000m 2008.
Holding a World Junior 10.000m Record (30.26.50) and a World Best 10Miles (50.39) proves
Linet is among the best female long distance runners. For 2014 Linet is aiming
Commonwealth Gold at the 10.000m in Glasgow.

In the beginning of her running career, Lucy was based in Japan where she ran for a
corporate team. She won her first international championships at the 2006 Commonwealth
Games. After a break in 2009 and 2010, Lucy returned to competition and won the Delhi Half
Marathon in 2011. In 2013 she returned to Delhi to take the third place. After finishing
fourth in last years Bangalore 10k, she is aiming for a top three position this year.

runner-up behind Gladys Cherono. She went on to win Luanda and Egmond half marathon.

Helalia Johannes comes from a very religious family so she spends her free time reading the
bible and going to church, and she will never start a race without praying. She also takes
much care about her family and she even bought herself a small truck so she can transport
things to support her family. Besides running, Helalia works for the Namibian Army. She has

Aliaksandra Duliba is a long distance runner from Belarus who came from 5,000m 10,000m
and cross country running. Starting from 2012 her training program was based on additional
mileage, which helped her to make a smooth transfer to marathon distance. Since 2013
Duliba is being coached by Igor Osmak highly profiled long distance coach in Ukraine,
known for coaching Irina Mikitenko of Germany during her victorious years. Aliaksandra
made a marathon debut at 2013 Los Angeles Marathon, where she set a new national record
and won the challenge. In October of 2013 Aliaksandra improved her PR and set a new NR
of 2:23:44 finishing 4th at Chicago Marathon. Her 2
