PROFILE OF MR.

UCHECHUKWU SAMPSON OGAH

The saying that some people are born great, some achieve greatness while some
have greatness thrust upon them cannot be truer in the case of Dr. Uchechukwu
Sampson Ogah (OON), President, Masters Energy oil & Gas Limited. Mr. Ogah is a
colossus, who was not born great nor has greatness thrust upon him but achieved
greatness by dint of hard work and dedication.
Dr. Uche Ogah was born about 43 years ago to Late Mr. Wilson Ogah and Ezinne
Pauline Ogah of Onuaku, Uturu in Isikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.
Resourceful, dynamic, motivator and principled, he has an uncanny appetite for work
and smells out an opportunity from a far off. He, like the Trojan horse defiled all
obstacles in his childhood to make it to the top today.
Uche as he is fondly called had his secondary education at Ishiagu High School.
Thereafter, he had a brief working stint at West African Examinations Council,
Enugu; before furthering his academic career.
Uche ended his banking career spanning over 15 years at Zenith Bank Plc and left
Zenith Bank as an Assistant General Manager/Head, Ikeja Business Focus Group.
A master strategist and skilful negotiator, Uche has an excellent track record of
performance. Not given to frivolities, he is very enterprising, articulate, humane and
a goal getter. Above all, he is a quintessential gentleman.
Uche holds the following academic degrees: Masters of Business Administration
(MBA) from University of Lagos, Bachelor of Science (Banking & Finance) from Ogun
State University, Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) from University of Nigeria, Nsukka
(UNN) and HND (Distinction) in Accountancy from the prestigious Institute of
Management and Technology, Enugu.
It is in the areas of business and philanthropy that Uche has made the greatest
landmark. Today, he is a very successful entrepreneur. He is a silent operator, who
as much as possible does not want to be mentioned publicly. He is a businessman
with a heart of gold. The humanitarian and philanthropic disposition of Uche was
taken to a higher level when he recently established a Foundation, Uche Ogah
Foundation. The Foundation which is primarily for Empowerment, Poverty and
Education in December 2011 alone gave out cash assistance of over N32M and
materials worth over N20M to empower less privileged Nigerians. The largely
unannounced activities of the Foundation are a reflection of Uches position that
humanitarian activities should not be publicized.
Also Uche recently instituted a chair at Abia State University in honour of his late
grandfather.
