CHAPTER-3

EXPERIMENTATION AND OBSERVATIONS


3.1 INSTALLATION
The experimental setup was installed at Dept. of Mech. Engineering, Rajiv
Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal as shown in picture given below.
This place has been selected due to open space no shadow zone during sun shine
hours. Experiments are performed for both stills with different depth of water to
three consecutive days. Different parameters such as temperatures at water
surface, inner & outer surface of glass and ambient condition, global and diffuse
radiation and yield are recorded hourly basis round the clock.

3.2 INSTRUMENTS USED


1. Digital temperature indicator:-it is used for measuring temperature of
water and inner & outer surface of glass. Specification of digital temperature
indicator are given as follows:

4. Temperature probe/se/tc 25K:- it is used for sensing temperature. It is


connected to the digital temperature indicator by the help of cable.
5. Cables:- it is a copper-tungsten wire used for connecting temperature probe
and digital temperature indicator.

We have taken different observations in three days at different depth of water.
