ACTIVITY SEVEN.

Introduce yourself (name, age, address, phone number, occupation) and
choose one of the following topics:

1. Compose a short article for a fitness magazine to express your health
habits and how often you practice your favorite sport.

My name is Andres Alexander Montealegre, Im 29 years old, Im from Ibague, Im
studying telecommunications engineering; I work for Movistar as an electronics
technician in the support area; Im married with Paola Cardona, she is a lawyer.
Now we have no kids.

The health is one of the most important parts of our life, without good health we are
not able to perform activities such as go to work, go to school, university, visit
some friends, in other words have a regular life without complications. In order to
keep our health in good conditions doctors recommend healthy habits such as eat
vegetables and fruits and reduce junk food with highly sugar concentrations and
cholesterol. However, this short article is not about nutrition, it is about another
important fact: health habits and how often I practice my favorite sport.

I usually do exercise three or four times a week. My routine normally starts at 06:00
a.m. I get up and fifteen minutes later I am ready to begin my favorite sport:
walking and climb stairs. I do it three times a week to make sure I am having a
good cardio exercise to keep my weight normal and body resistance. I complete
my exercise playing soccer but I practice this sports only at weekends and
depending if my friends are available, normally we play Saturday every two weeks
(every fifteen days). So my main sport is walking and climbs stairs during 45
minutes. I begin stretching my legs and arms, my back, and then I walk for 10
minutes to warm up my body, once my body warms up, I start to climb stairs, this
stair has 150 steps and 45 degrees inclined, I climb twice and repeat it five times. I
climb twice then I go to walk 500 meters then I climb again until I finish exhausted.

This routine helps me to keep my weight, my mind awake, reduce the food anxiety.
I also drink water instead of eating a De Todito or drink a soda, I only eat bread at
breakfast and for dinner I usually eat tuna and a tomato, carrot and onion salad,
with a juice of any fruit with a little portion of sugar.

However, you can tell I tried to avoid junk food at all, but this is not true. Once a
week we go with my wife to a fast food restaurant (normally Wednesday) and we
eat hamburgers, French fries, hot dogs, pizza, fried chicken, sandwiches and to
reduce calories we drink a Coca-Cola zero.

The important thing is trying to find the balance between food and exercise, taking
care of the things you eat, so that you can eat all kinds of food without restrictions
and having a good health and a good life. Just remember everything you do, do it
with moderation.
