IV. Course Description :

This course study on the different layers of the network architecture. The students are
expected to acquire understanding on information network concepts and technologies. This course
will enhance their skills and knowledge in computer networking. And to prepare and enable the
students for the industrial practice of network planning, design, implementation, and management

At the end of the course students are expected:
• To gain knowledge on network architecture and its significance for learning about OSI-
ISO and TCP/IP, their hierarchical, the role played by each layer in the hierarchy.
• Understand the necessity of network architecture, standardization, types of architecture,
and de facto standards
• Obtain an overview and understanding of the network equipment and cabling.
• To learn about desktop management and server applications
• To practice network planning and designing
• To present their network project design of a specific company
