Summary: Amazing Tales and Strange Stories from the Bible from Concordia Publishing House shares the adventures of God's Word through art and simple language.
Saint Louis, MO÷Concordia Publishing House (CPH) announces the release of a new children's book, Amazing Tales and Strange Stories from the Bible. With colorful art and age- appropriate text, children engage with some of the most dramatic accounts in Scripture.
Amazing Tales and Strange Stories from the Bible is available at www.cph.org or by calling 1.800.325.3040.
"The illustrations are bright, colorful, and imaginative with the purpose of showing children the drama and excitement of God's Word,¨ shares Peggy Kuethe, senior editor of children's and family books and women's resources at CPH.
Kuethe continues, "The stories are brief and easy to follow, so children will see that the Bible is exciting and, sometimes, surprising. A man who is swallowed by a giant fish and lives to tell about it? A plague of frogs that covers the whole land? A man who dies and then lives again? Amazing!¨
The stories are shared in a chronological order beginning with God's creation of the world. Many Old Testament stories are included, which leads to the birth of Jesus. Children learn about Jesus' life, ministry, and death and resurrection. The final story centers on Jesus' ascension and asks children to share the story about Jesus' life with others.
"The Bible is full of stories that at first glance would appear to be fiction,¨ says Ken Liszewski, manager of books for CPH. "These impossible sounding stories show the majesty and power of our God and only through His divine intervention could have happened. Amazing Tales and Strange Stories presents these stories in a fun way without taking away from the grandeur and significance of them.¨
