Phi Beta Kappa OHern Scholarship for post-graduate study. Surveyed original and heretofore unre-
searched primary documents. Composing a literary manuscript intended for publication on the frst news-
paper in Asia, Hickys Bengal Gazette, based in Calcutta, India. Te manuscript contextualizes British-Indian
relations and the development of a free press in the early 19th century.
