Data Wish List for Geomechanics/ Pore Pressure

Analysis

The items highlighted in Green are the available data

Target Well Data:
Description of the drilling program:
o Water depth (or elevation if onshore)
o Planned total depth
o Casing program
o Proposed mud program
o Proposed logging program
o Location (long & lat, field and block)
o Proposed surveys from directional company
o Geologic prognosis

Seismic Data:
3-D image and interval velocity datasets of study areas in SGY
3-D RMS Velocity data sets of study areas
If 3-D dataset is not available:
o Interval velocity/depth pairs from multiple points bracketing target location
o Seismic images of target well from perpendicular perspectives with any known faults
identified

Offset Well Data:
Lab core test data of geomechanical properties
o Rock density, porosity, permeability
o Rock strength, and other mechanical properties
o Sand grain size and distribution
o If no lab data are available, well log data will be used for obtaining the rock geomechanical
parameters
LWD/Logging Data
o Any velocity dataset (DSI, LWD SONIC or VSP) SONIC Available

Mud logs or End of Wells reports can be substituted for lack of drilling histories
Any previous reports related to the geomechanical modeling, borehole and casing stability
Management Presentation regarding the prospect/target location(s)

Additional:
Surface map identifying the target, offset, and seismic velocity gather locations (stick map &
contour map)
Depositional environment and predominant lithology for each major rock unit
Anticipated formation tops, fault cuts, and unconformities
Proximity of target and offset wells to salt
Anticipated correlations from offset(s) to the target well
Paleo data/ history, if available
A minimum of 3 offset wells required for Presage model
Structure maps and or seismic cross-sections across area of interest (U sands: V sands)
