existed during the Civil War and not another time
period. You created journal entries that accurately
depict and explain the type of feelings the
role/person you picked would have been feeling
during the Civil War Era. In your journal entries,
you provide historical contexts that demonstrate an
understanding of why this person feels the way
that he/she does. I.e. what factors contributed to
this persons feelings. You included an accurate
date for each entry, with one of the entries on the
eve of the Civil War.

You explain details in each journal entry in a way
that allows the reader to picture what life was like
for this person right before/during the Civil War
without having to have previous knowledge of the
event.
