HCL Technologies is one of two companies under HCL Enterprise - a global technology and IT
company with annual revenues of over US$ 6.3 billion. The second company is HCL Infosystems. HCL
Enterprise developed Indias first indigenous micro-computer at the same time as Apple. The
company has been a leader in technological innovation with many world firsts to its credit, including
the first Relational Database Management System (RDMS) in 1983, client-server architecture in
1984, and fine-grained multiprocessor UNIX installation in 1989.[6] HCL Enterprise's R&D division
was spun off as HCL Technologies in 1991 to mark its advent into the software services arena.

Control Point Solutions was rechristened HCL Expense Management Solutions. Later, in January
2011, Tangoe acquired HCLs fixed and mobile Expense Management Solutions practice, processing
centers, and support staff located in Alpharetta, GA and East Rutherford, NJ. HCL continues to
provide offshore service and support operations from India[14]

Recent Recognition
HCL won the Asia-Pacific Enterprise Leadership Award[30] (APELA) for 2013. This award recognizes
and honors the achievements of companies in the areas of sustainable development, corporate
responsibility, and/or corporate social responsibility (CSR). HCL was also the only Indian Company on
the Honor Roll of the UN Women Women Empowerment Leadership Awards[31] for 2013. This

Go Green: HCL runs a multi-layered corporate program Go Green to drive its sustainability
