B. Lesson Proper
Motivation

1. Suppose the jeepney that you are riding suddenly stops. What will happen to you?
2. What if the jeepney stopped and suddenly it moved forward, What happen to you?
Activity: Learning stations
1. Introduce the activity ( Law of Inertia)
2. Divide the class into 6 groups
3. Task the groups to work on different activities on the learning stations.
4. Allow each group to spend 5 minutes for each station
5. Let them write their observations/ answer on a pad paper.

Discussion:
1. Call on representatives from each group to present the results of one activity that will
be assigned to them. Clear their misconceptions.
2. Seatbelts are required in cars and jeepneys to protect the passenger and drivers.
Explain how a seatbelt can protect the passenger or driver of the vehicle.
3. Why a jeepney of mass 2000 kg is is more difficult to stop than a tricycle 1000kg when
both are traveling at the same speed?

A. Generalization

1. What is inertia?
2. How is mass related to inertia?
3. In your own words, state the law of inertia.
4. Cite some daily life activities or situations related to the law of inertia
IV.
Fill in the blanks.
1. Inertia is the tendency of an object to resist any _________ in its condition whether at rest or at
constant velocity.
2. The greater the mass the ___________ the inertia
3. Suppose you are riding on a jeepney that is moving to the left, when it suddenly stops your
body will move to the ___________. Explain your answer.
V.
1. What is a net force?
2. How is acceleration related to the net force?
3. How is acceleration related to mass?
