3.Historical Background

Animal Farm is based on historical facts of the Russian Revolution took
place in 1917. It highlighted figures like Stalin, Lenin and Trotsky that are
reflected in the work to Napoleon, Old Major and Snowball respectively.
The Russian Revolution of 1917 was a political movement in Russia that
culminated in 1917 with the expulsion of the provisional government that
had replaced the tsarist system, which eventually led to the establishment
of the Soviet Union, which lasted until its demise in 1991.

4. Female characters in Animal Farm

Description of the female characters in the play:
The female characters in the play are:

-Clover, was a female horse, old and she has a maternal aspect, which had
failed her figure back after her fourth colt.

-Muriel, the white goat. Goats came to learn the 7 commandments and
faithfully obeyed the ruling pigs.

-Mollie, white female horse who drew the car of Mr. Jones. She wasnt
very intelligent, she liked to show their beauty in front of other animals.

- The cat, whose name doesnt appears on the site. Her character is shown
as a fearful and concerned because the few times it does it for her own
survival and her own good. The cat always disappears with great excuses.
The clever cat tried to captivate the sparrows to eat them. With the attitude
of this character would deduce that the woman with her charms intended to
seduce men to achieve their aims. The man here is reflected in the sparrow.

However, Mollie instead of going to help in the rebellion as the cat, she
gets scared hidden, shows the courage of the men to the cowardice of
females. Here we can see reflected the role play by women at that time
which man took the control and the woman was reduced to the domestic
ambit. The man looked like a leader because women werent well seen that
they had the leadership and as well they were underestimated by the
society.
5. Women in the old period
During the Russian revolution, the revolutionary government established
laws that were making possible the political and social equality of the
woman, these were including the right to vote, the right to the divorce and
to occupying public charges, legal and free access for all the women, the
beginning of equal pays for equally work, license for maternity of 4 months
before and after to give birth and children's free care.
The revolution showed that when the women join the working fight
together with the men, the oppression stays behind in the process. The
emancipation of the woman only will be possible by means of her entry in
the work world.
6. Women nowadays
Now, women have the same rights as men, but they dont equally valued,
although it is more valued than before. More and more women work inside
and outside their homes. In old times it was wrong for a woman to be a
leader, but now involved in public position.

Despite that they are undervalued; women carry out household tasks so as
work outside the home.
7. Conclusion
The work from the feminine point of view, the work can be considered to
be a sexist, since almost all the protagonist is by masculine prominent
figures, whereas the feminine ones remain isolated of the work and they are
underestimated.
In the work they kill to the hens, which are women. The word hen used
as adjective always attributes to itself the women of a contemptuous way
and the same thing happens with the word pig used as adjective,
attributed to the men.
