the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And the LOR said, !" spirit shall not alwa"s strive with man, for that he also is
flesh# "et his da"s shall $e an hundred and twent" "ears.
And it came to pass in the mornin% that his spirit was trou$led; and he sent and
called for all the ma%icians of &%"pt, and all the wise men thereof# and 'haraoh
told them his dream; $ut there was none that could interpret them unto
'haraoh.
And 'haraoh said unto his servants, (an we find such a one as this is, a man in
whom the Spirit of God is)
And the" told him all the words of *oseph, which he had said unto them# and
when he saw the wa%ons which *oseph had sent to carr" him, the spirit of *aco$
their father revived#

And the" fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh,

And /alaam lifted up his e"es, and he saw +srael a$idin% in his tents accordin% to
their tri$es; and the spirit of God came upon him.
Let the LOR, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the con%re%ation,

whom is the spirit, and la" thine hand upon him;

of the LOR came mi%htil" upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms
$ecame as flax that was $urnt with fire, and his $ands loosed from off his hands.
/ut God clave an hollow place that was in the .aw, and there came water
thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came a%ain, and he revived#
wherefore he called the name thereof &nhakkore, which is in Lehi unto this da".

And Saul,s servants said unto him, /ehold now, an evil spirit from God trou$leth
thee.
Let our lord now command th" servants, which are $efore thee, to seek out a
man, who is a cunnin% pla"er on an harp# and it shall come to pass, when the
evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall pla" with his hand, and thou shalt
$e well.
And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that avid
took an harp, and pla"ed with his hand# so Saul was refreshed, and was well,
and the evil spirit departed from him.
And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon
Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house# and avid pla"ed with his
hand, as at other times# and there was a .avelin in Saul,s hand.
And the evil spirit from the LOR was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his
.avelin in his hand# and avid pla"ed with his hand.
And Saul sent messen%ers to take avid# and when the" saw the compan" of
the prophets prophes"in%, and Samuel standin% as appointed over them, the
Spirit of God was upon the messen%ers of Saul, and the" also prophesied.
And he went thither to 2aioth in Ramah# and the Spirit of God was upon him
also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to 2aioth in Ramah.
2ow Samuel was dead, and all +srael had lamented him, and $uried him in
Ramah, even in his own cit". And Saul had put awa" those that had familiar
spirits, and the wi-ards, out of the land.
1hen said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit,
that + ma" %o to her, and en5uire of her. And his servants said to him, /ehold,
there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at &ndor.
And Saul dis%uised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two
men with him, and the" came to the woman $" ni%ht# and he said, + pra" thee,
divine unto me $" the familiar spirit, and $rin% me him up, whom + shall name
unto thee.
And the woman said unto him, /ehold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how
he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wi-ards, out of the land#
wherefore then la"est thou a snare for m" life, to cause me to die)
And the" %ave him a piece of a cake of fi%s, and two clusters of raisins# and
when he had eaten, his spirit came a%ain to him# for he had eaten no $read, nor
drunk any water, three da"s and three ni%hts.

/ut 4edekiah the son of (henaanah went near, and smote !icaiah on the cheek,
and said, 6hich wa" went the Spirit of the LOR from me to speak unto thee)
And it came to pass, when the" were %one over, that &li.ah said unto &lisha, Ask
what + shall do for thee, $efore + $e taken awa" from thee. And &lisha said, +
pra" thee, let a dou$le portion of th" spirit $e upon me.
And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at *ericho saw him, the"
said, 1he spirit of &li.ah doth rest on &lisha. And the" came to meet him, and
$owed themselves to the %round $efore him.
And the" said unto him, /ehold now, there $e with th" servants fift" stron%
men; let them %o, we pra" thee, and seek th" master# lest peradventure the
Spirit of the LOR hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into
some valle". And he said, 7e shall not send.
And he made his son pass throu%h the fire, and o$served times, and used
enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wi-ards# he wrou%ht much
wickedness in the si%ht of the LOR, to provoke him to an%er.
!oreover the workers with familiar spirits, and the wi-ards, and the ima%es, and
the idols, and all the a$ominations that were spied in the land of *udah and in
*erusalem, did *osiah put awa", that he mi%ht perform the words of the law
which were written in the $ook that 3ilkiah the priest found in the house of the
LOR.

3e that hath knowled%e spareth his words# and a man of understandin% is of an
excellent spirit.
1he spirit of a man will sustain his infirmit"; $ut a wounded spirit who can $ear)
1he spirit of man is the candle of the LOR, searchin% all the inward parts of the
$ell".
3e that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a cit" that is $roken down, and
without walls.
A man,s pride shall $rin% him low# $ut honour shall uphold the hum$le in spirit.

A%ain, + considered all travail, and ever" ri%ht work, that for this a man is envied
of his nei%h$our. 1his is also vanit" and vexation of spirit.
/etter is an handful with 5uietness, than $oth the hands full with travail and
vexation of spirit.
There is no end of all the people, even of all that have $een $efore them# the"
also that come after shall not re.oice in him. Surel" this also is vanit" and
vexation of spirit.
/etter is the si%ht of the e"es than the wanderin% of the desire# this is also
vanit" and vexation of spirit.
/etter is the end of a thin% than the $e%innin% thereof# and the patient in spirit
is $etter than the proud in spirit.
/e not hast" in th" spirit to $e an%r"# for an%er resteth in the $osom of fools.
There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath
he power in the da" of death# and there is no dischar%e in that war; neither shall
wickedness deliver those that are %iven to it.
+f the spirit of the ruler rise up a%ainst thee, leave not th" place; for "ieldin%
pacifieth %reat offences.
As thou knowest not what is the wa" of the spirit, nor how the $ones do grow in
the wom$ of her that is with child# even so thou knowest not the works of God
who maketh all.
1hen shall the dust return to the earth as it was# and the spirit shall return unto
God who %ave it.

6ith m" soul have + desired thee in the ni%ht; "ea, with m" spirit within me will +
seek thee earl"# for when th" .ud%ments are in the earth, the inha$itants of the
world will learn ri%hteousness.
And for a spirit of .ud%ment to him that sitteth in .ud%ment, and for stren%th to
them that turn the $attle to the %ate.
And thou shalt $e $rou%ht down, and shalt speak out of the %round, and th"
speech shall $e low out of the dust, and th" voice shall $e, as of one that hath a
familiar spirit, out of the %round, and th" speech shall whisper out of the dust.
8or the LOR hath poured out upon "ou the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed
"our e"es# the prophets and "our rulers, the seers hath he covered.
1he" also that erred in spirit shall come to understandin%, and the" that
murmured shall learn doctrine.
6oe to the re$ellious children, saith the LOR, that take counsel, $ut not of me;

healed.

6hile 'eter thou%ht on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, /ehold, three men

And there stood up one of them named A%a$us, and si%nified $" the Spirit that

After the" were come to !"sia, the" assa"ed to %o into /ith"nia# $ut the Spirit
suffered them not.
And it came to pass, as we went to pra"er, a certain damsel possessed with a
spirit of divination met us, which $rou%ht her masters much %ain $" soothsa"in%#
And this did she man" da"s. /ut 'aul, $ein% %rieved, turned and said to the
spirit, + command thee in the name of *esus (hrist to come out of her. And he
came out the same hour.
2ow while 'aul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he
saw the cit" wholl" %iven to idolatr".
And when Silas and 1imotheus were come from !acedonia, 'aul was pressed in
the spirit, and testified to the *ews that *esus was (hrist.
1his man was instructed in the wa" of the Lord; and $ein% fervent in the spirit,
he spake and tau%ht dili%entl" the thin%s of the Lord, knowin% onl" the $aptism

So that from his $od" were $rou%ht unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and
the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
1hen certain of the va%a$ond *ews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them

And the evil spirit answered and said, *esus + know, and 'aul + know; $ut who

And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them,
and prevailed a%ainst them, so that the" fled out of that house naked and
wounded.
After these thin%s were ended, 'aul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed
throu%h !acedonia and Achaia, to %o to *erusalem, sa"in%, After + have $een
there, + must also see Rome.
And now, $ehold, + %o $ound in the spirit unto *erusalem, not knowin% the thin%s
that shall $efall me there#
And findin% disciples, we tarried there seven da"s# who said to 'aul throu%h the
Spirit, that he should not %o up to *erusalem.
8or the Sadducees sa" that there is no resurrection, neither an%el, nor spirit# $ut
the 'harisees confess $oth.
And there arose a %reat cr"# and the scri$es that were of the 'harisees, part
arose, and strove, sa"in%, 6e find no evil in this man# $ut if a spirit or an an%el
hath spoken to him, let us not fi%ht a%ainst God.

2ow concernin% spiritual gifts, $rethren, + would not have "ou i%norant.
6herefore + %ive "ou to understand, that no man speakin% $" the Spirit of God
calleth *esus accursed# and that no man can sa" that *esus is the Lord, $ut $"
the 3ol" Ghost.
2ow there are diversities of %ifts, $ut the same Spirit.
/ut the manifestation of the Spirit is %iven to ever" man to profit withal.
