Joint Doctrine

Joint Doctrine

J oint doctrine guides the actions of forces, composed of two or more services, in coordinated action
towards a common goal. It gives guidance on how to conduct and undertake joint or combined
operations, usually compromising of land, naval and air forces. J oint operations and joint based
warfare carried out between services is designed to achieve a common goal more effectively; the
success of joint operations depends on all services accepting a clearly understood doctrine.

This bibliography has been designed to provide a guide as to where to find information on joint
operations. Please note that the list of references below is a selection of the more relevant titles and
information on the subject. The list is not intended to be exhaustive or definitive but is an introductory
guide to some of the resources available.
