properlydesignatethecallwithintherecruitingsoftwareasacountablecall.CoachTwocheckedthesoftware
andnoticedacountablecallhadnotbeenmadethatweeksoheplacedtwocallsthatresultedinnoanswer.
CoachTwodidnottalkwiththeprospectbutthetelephonecallsbyitselfareviolations.WhenCoachTwo
wenttoinputnotes,henoticedCoachOnehadinputtednotesaboutaconversationearlierthatweek,thus,
discoveringtheviolation.OriginallyCoachTwoonlyreportedoneviolation.Thecomplianceofficediscovered
thesecondviolationthroughitsnormalmonitoringprocedures.TheCoachexplainedhewasconfusedabout
thetimingofthecallsandtheapplicationoftherules.
The Head Coach sent an email to his entire
football staff noting the importance of
properly documenting telephone calls. The
institution has refrained fromhaving
telephone contact with the prospect and his
family for two separate two-week periods.

properlycommunicatedandtheadmissionswereplacedonthegeneralstaffpasslist.

ISUdeclaredthestudentathleteineligible
andreinstatedherfollowing$90
restitutionpaymenttoacharity(thevalue
oftheadmissions).Thecomplianceoffice
educatedallindividualsinvolvedwiththe
violation.Theinstitutionrecentlysetupa
newprocesswithmen'sbasketballand
complimentaryadmissionsduringroad
conteststhatshouldpreventsimilar
violations.
