Types of Impression Materials found in the market

Elastic materials
Agar-agar
Gingi-Pak SuperSyringe although a gel, its
high strength is equal to many regular tray
materials. As a result, it eliminates the
marginal tearing associated with other syringe
materials.


Alginate
Dentsply Jeltrate Regular/Fast Set an
alginate impression material that provides a
quality impression without excessive flow
providing greater comfort to patients.

GC Coe Alginate - a reliable impression
material commonly used for endentulous and
study model impressions for orthodontics and
prosthodontics. This "Pack-the-Scoop"
alginate material comes in two flavors of mint
or cherry. It is available in a "Normal" or
"Fast" Set.

Polyether
3M ESPE Impregum F Polyether Impression
Material - The medium body polyether
impression material, in a hand-mix formulation,
offers high precision and is intended for use in
the monophase technique.
Inelastic materials
Impression compound
Kerr Impression Compound - comes in cakes
of convenient size for full or partial
impressions and sticks for copper band
impressions or for adding to the periphery of
an impression or custom tray. Each color has a
controlled working temperature for a specific
use.
Mizzy Compound Cakes & Sticks - pleasantly
scented and flavored compound for taking full
and partial impressions, and making
preliminary impression trays.
The Brown Medium Heat Compound:
- Plastic at 57.2C
- Ideal for snap impressions
- Working Temperature: 52C - 57C
Red Low Heat Compound:
- Maximum visibility of detail
- Working Temperature: 46C - 52C
Green Sticks:
- Has the most diverse working range
- Renders sharp details
- Will not fracture while trimming
- Chills evenly without warping
- Maximum contrast

Zinc Oxide Eugenol
Kerr Luralite Impression Paste - easy to mix,
pleasant tasting free-flowing zinc oxide
eugenol paste, which will not distort soft tissue.
It sets hard so the impression can be reinserted
to test, and is dimensionally stable and
extremely accurate. The standard pack
contains 215 g base, 65 g accelerator, 28 ml
Solitine, and 1 mixing pad.
