Matter: Arya Samaj Mandir -taken over unlawfully by criminals.
Dear respected Sir,
I write as a concerned citizen of Jammu to express my disappointment on a case matter that has been going on for a couple of years. We have approached Jammu Police countless times over the last two years and have been neglected, misled and unfairly treated. My family and I are amazed that such a simple matter has escalated to a stage where I am required to visit and write to you personally. My name *HIDEN*. At 90 years age, a retired Army Officer, it is in unfortunate circumstances I am requesting your help to retrieve control over my Arya Samaj. The mandir itself has been constructed by me, my wife and the *HIDDEN* family. I am a permanent resident of J&K and have served in the Indian Army with grace and dignity. I have held the position of Pradhan (President) ever since the inception of my mandir in 1992. A couple years ago I approached Jammu police to inform them the following persons (non-residents of Jammu, possibly Haryana), have forced me and my family out of my Arya Samaj. They have hi-jacked control of the mandir to conduct their own criminal operations. The persons in the matter are as follows: *HIDDEN* (Leader) *HIDDEN* (Brother of Leader) *HIDDEN (Son of Leader) *HIDDEN*
The above named 4 people have a history of crime associated between them; they are not citizens of Jammu. They have threatened me and my family countless times. They have also bribed a constable of Jammu police, whom we initially reported the matter to. The constable name is *HIDDEN*. Over the last couple years, Constable *HIDDEN* has visited my family unannounced and walked through our family doors to question us at our most vulnerable times. It is only in recent times we have learnt that *HIDDEN* was bribed by *HIDDEN*, to undertake a fake investigation and distract police from further criminal investigations. I am the Pradhan (President) of Arya Samaj Mandir (*HIDDEN*) and I believe in Law and Justice, I request you to start formal investigation of the above named persons and those associated with them. I would like to press charges on persons listed above, who have exploited my Mandir and in turn transformed it into a business of unscrupulous criminal activity. The group has turned the temple into their permanent home. They have carried out thousands of illegal marriages without my permission. Each marriage, on average is worth Rs.15000 or more. The group has used this money for living a luxurious personal life rather than invest the money back into the temple and other community programs. When I confronted the group, I told them to leave the Arya Samaj Mandir (*HIDDEN*) and stop conducting illegal marriages. The group retaliated by sending police to my house and unlawfully taking my son away without any warrants. They threatened us to leave Arya Samaj Mandir and our House as well. I have worked very hard and invested a lot of money, resources and time in building my Mandir and the group expect me to leave all this and run away? They have continuously threatened us for the last two years and said not to interfere in their criminal activities or there will be dire consequences. I have been informed by other sources that none of the group members are permanent resident of J&K, they are wanted criminals in other states of India and have a history of crime. I have the full support of members from my Mandir. Devotees have encouraged me daily never to give up, regardless of my age. As part of my future visions, I want to develop the Arya Samaj Mandir. The Mandir will not only be a place of worship and marriages, but also a library to educate the younger generation of our culture and heritage. The funds raised though weddings and religious events was to be spent on developing a library. As part of the charges I want laid on this group, I would like the criminal group to return all funds raised through performing illegal marriages and other events. I have enforced strict rules on the Mandir since its inception. One of them being funds raised through the Mandir are to be re-invested into the temple and further develop its prominence in Janipur. Instead the group has used the money to bribe various people and spend on criminal activities. I have given over 22 years to my passion and dreams in developing my Mandir. I want to prove to my family what I am capable of at this age. I want to leave my family and the people of Jammu a legacy to remember me by. I want the children in my area who are deprived of education to freely enter the temple and educate themselves. I want to develop community programs to increase the standard of living in *CITY HIDDEN*. I have spent most my life serving my country and making it a better place to live. I will not stand down; I will not bow my head down to low life criminals who threaten me and my family to leave our home. It is a disgrace and very upsetting that they have broken locks to my temple and allowed liquor and non-veg/meat on my temple grounds. Our house is directly adjacent to the temple and I am deeply upset, feeling helpless watching over these atrocities that are taking place in front of my eyes every day. I have already filed a number of cases against the criminal group. Unfortunately, without our knowledge, the constable over sighting our case (Constable *HIDDEN* of Janipur Police) has been bribed by the criminal group. The constable has invited himself to our house several times unannounced. In my sons absence he has advised my family to leave Arya Samaj and Jammu. It is only recently, we learnt that the constable came to our house without any orders or permission of his seniors. I told the constable everything about Arya Samaj, provided several documents and testimonials of the devotees who attend my Arya Samaj Mandir. I had doubts on him when he ignored everything I said, refused to take notes and walked out saying I am too old and cant handle the Arya Samaj. He mentioned that the criminal group has informed police to threaten me and my family. He mentioned that both police and ministers are bought and nothing can be done. I am 90 years old, I consider myself young and experienced. I will continue fighting my battle with the complete faith in my god. I am a honest man with integrity who is willing to fight the violence in our city driven by such criminal organisations. I humbly request you take close oversight of this case, if not personally investigate it yourself. I would also like to take this opportunity in inviting you to my house so I can show you the Mandir and the situation I am trapped in and forced to live every day. I have utmost respect for you and the role you play in keeping Jammu safe under the circumstances. I trust that you will resolve this case in favourable results. I would ideally like to see following result from this investigation: Arya Samaj Mandir rightfully returned to me. Return of funds raised by the temple over the last 22 years, I can assure you these funds will be re- invested into the temple to develop a library and promote social programs to enhance living standards in Janipur. Police protection for my family, daily patrols to ensure no retaliations from criminals All members of the criminal group arrested and charged, including past crimes in other states An overhaul review of the police system to tackle corrupt officers, I know this is a lot to ask, I am happy to meet the CM of our state and discuss matters. Constable *HIDDEN* of Jammu Police, to be stood down from his duties Our state cannot be developed if individuals, including police, keep supporting such criminal activities. I believe this group has not only tortured me over the last few years, but also other citizens of Jammu. I hope you will take necessary and prompt action to stop these people who are spoiling my Mandir and also degarding the culture of Jammu. Please feel free to accept my invitation to visit my house and Mandir. You may also extend the invitation to other Senior officers, Chief ministers and media persons. I want to inspire others that age is not a factor when tackling criminal activities and corruption. My contact details are as below. I look forward to your urgent reply. Yours sincerely, *HIDDEN*
