Service contracts will remain valid for future services, with the exception of any agreed upon

changes in rates, fees, visit dates, and/or times (oral or written). Online polices take precedence
over all policies in print. The Client (Pet Owner) hereto agrees as follows:
1. Client agrees to any future Lancaster Pet Sitters term changes relayed verbally to the
Client, mailed via postal service, e-mailed, or posted on the Lancaster Pet Sitters
website at angelpetsitters.com under the heading "Angel Pet Sitters (Lancaster Pet
Sitters) Policies and Legal Considerations".
2. Pet sitter(s) agrees to provide services stated in this contract in a reliable and
trustworthy manner. In consideration of these services and as an express condition
thereof, the client expressly waives any and all claims against Lancaster Pet Sitters or
pet sitter(s), unless arising from gross negligence. Claims of negligence that involve
the pet sitter referred by Lancaster Pet Sitters will be the responsibility of the
contractor. All contractors carry liability insurance and bonding, as does Lancaster
Pet Sitters.
3. Neither Lancaster Pet Sitters nor the pet sitter contractors accept any responsibility
for security of the premises or loss/damage to personal property if other individuals
have access to the client's home, or if the home is not properly secured by Client
while Lancaster Pet Sitters pet sitters are providing service. This applies even if the
client has denied there have been visitors, if there is evidence that there were/are
visitors in or on the premises.
4. Lancaster Pet Sitters is not responsible for damage to the home beyond the control
of the pet sitter. This includes, but is not limited to leaks, electrical problems, acts of
God/nature. In these situations, the pet sitter will attempt to contact the Client and
then the emergency contact before making a subjective decision with regard to
dealing with the problem. All repairs and related fees (including Special Service
emergency service time and coordination fees) will be paid by the Client, or fully
reimbursed to Lancaster Pet Sitters within 3 days of clients return.
5. The terms of the Lancaster Pet Sitters service contract, policies and legal
considerations apply to all pets owned by the Client, including any and all new pets
that the Client obtains on or after the date this document was signed, and at any
and all locations the owner designates for service.
6. Clients must make Lancaster Pet Sitters aware of ALL pets in the household,
including small animals, fish, and outdoor pets. If Client should neglect to tell
Lancaster Pet Sitters about any pet(s), Lancaster Pet Sitters is not responsible for any
injury, ailment or death that may befall such pet(s).
7. Pet Owner must have ownership or written legal rights to place pets in the care of
pet sitters, kennels, groomers, and veterinary clinics. The pet sitter cannot service a
home with visiting pets or animals that do not belong to the resident of the service
site without separate sets of agreement forms, including a signed Service Contract,
Service Request form, and acceptance of all legal considerations and policies. These
must be signed and accepted by the RIGHTFUL owner of the visiting pets. Lancaster
Pet Sitters will not be held responsible or liable if a Pet Owner lies to us about the
ownership and care of pets in their home.
8. Lancaster Pet Sitters shall not be held responsible or liable for the loss, injury or
death of any pet(s) that the client has let outside or has instructed the sitter or a
third party to allow outside unsupervised and without a leash (whether in a fenced
or unfenced area). It is solely the Clients responsibility to pet-proof any areas of the
home and/or property to which the pet has access. This includes thoroughly
inspecting fences, gates, latches, doors, and other devices meant to contain the pet
or restrict access to specific areas.
9. Lancaster Pet Sitters does NOT assume responsibility and is not liable for any injuries
the pet may sustain or property damage the pet may cause while in its own
home/property.
10. Client agrees to hold harmless Lancaster Pet Sitters for any liability or damage,
including, without limitation, to property, persons or animals, caused by any action,
or failure to act, by Client, Client's agents, employees, or third persons. Such actions
or failures to act may include, but shall not be limited to: windows left open, doors
left unlocked or doors that do not latch properly, unsecured yards which Lancaster
Pet Sitters is instructed to release pets into, faulty gates or garage doors, water
pipes, air vents, pet doors, and/or other appurtenances or elements within the
Client's control and not addressed by Client prior to Client's departure.
11. Lancaster Pet Sitters is not liable for any loss or damage in the event of a burglary or
other crime that should occur while under this contract. Pet sitters always ensure
that Clients' doors are locked when they depart, but have no control over what may
occur while not in the client's home. Client agrees to secure home prior to leaving
the premises. Pet sitter(s) will re-secure the home to the best of their ability at the
end of each visit. Keys are always returned to Clients lock box at the end of each
visit.
12. All individuals (other than Lancaster Pet Sitters pet sitters) visiting the home MUST
leave a log of their visit, which will include their reason for being in the home, their
name, a contact number, and time of their arrival and departure. It is the Clients
responsibility to ensure that Lancaster Pet Sitters is provided with information
regarding any friends, relatives, neighbors, or others whom the client has given
access to the home in their absence.
13. Client understands that all pets (where appropriate) must have a veterinarian and be
currently vaccinated. Client is responsible for adhering to all national, state, and
local animal laws and ordinances.

while outside in unfenced areas or off the Clients property. Owners of free-roaming

Pet Sitters. If client has an invisible fence, dogs will not be allowed to roam free
within invisible fencethey must be leashed.

too great. We will, however, agree to care for them indoors, and will supervise them
within a securely fenced backyard (we will not walk dogs that are in heat outside
clients fenced yard).
16. Lancaster Pet Sitters does not diagnose or make therapy decisions, nor does it offer
veterinary services. Any medical concerns will be deferred to a veterinarian.
17. Client acknowledges that Lancaster Pet Sitters will give insulin injections as
instructed by Client, however, Lancaster Pet Sitters cannot guarantee the outcome
of such injections. Client understands that Lancaster Pet Sitters pet sitters are not
experienced in veterinary care. Client understands the risks involved, and agrees
that Lancaster Pet Sitters will not be held liable for harm or death to pet(s) resulting
from insulin injections. Client also holds Lancaster Pet Sitters harmless in the event
pet(s) suffers adverse reactions or shock while Lancaster Pet Sitters pet sitters are
away from the Client's home. Lancaster Pet Sitters does not do glucose testing.
Diabetic pets must be on a stable dose of insulin.
18. Lancaster Pet Sitters will not pet sit for acutely ill pets, pets with
uncontrolled/untreated medical conditions, dogs that jump constantly, or any pets
that are aggressive. It is suggested that these pets be boarded.
19. Lancaster Pet Sitters will make every effort to administer medications that the pet(s)
requires. However, if the pet absolutely refuses to cooperate, client authorizes and
accepts charges for transport of pet(s) to veterinarian and for veterinary
administration of medications. In the event the pet continues to prevent
administration of medication, client agrees to allow Lancaster Pet Sitters to leave
the pet with the vet, and accepts all charges.
20. In the event that any of the Clients pets or large animals appears to be ill, injured, or
at significant risk of experiencing a medical problem at the start of service or while in
the care of Lancaster Pet Sitters, the Client grants permission to Lancaster Pet Sitters
to seek veterinary service from a veterinarian or a veterinary clinic.
21. Clients preferred veterinary services are listed in Clients Vet Information page on
www.LancasterPetSitters.com/Vet-Information.html. Other veterinarians or
emergency care clinics chosen by the pet sitter are acceptable.

of Clients requested total diagnosis and treatment limit per pet, as indicated in
Clients Vet Information page on www.LancasterPetSitters.com/Vet-
Information.html. (most common values are $200, $1000, or unlimited).
23. The Client understands that efforts will be made to contact me regarding any
treatments, illness, injury, or potential problems as soon as the condition is deemed
not life threatening and/or contact is possible. The Client understands that Lancaster
Pet Sitters care providers work hard to prevent accidents and injuries, and that such
problems may occur no matter how well a pet is cared for. The client agrees to allow
Lancaster Pet Sitters care providers to use their best judgment in handling these
situations, and the Client understands that Lancaster Pet Sitters and its staff assume
no responsibility for the actions and decisions of the veterinary staff, the health, or
death of Clients pet(s).
24. The Client assumes full responsibility for the payment and/or reimbursement for any
and all veterinary services rendered, including but not limited to diagnosis,
treatment, grooming, medical supplies, and boarding. Such payments will be made
within 14 days of the initial incident. The Client agrees to be responsible for all
Special Service fees assessed by Lancaster Pet Sitters for emergency transportation,
care, supervision, or hiring of emergency caregivers, and will pay such fees within 14
days of each incident.
25. The Client authorizes Lancaster Pet Sitters and Clients primary veterinarian(s) as
listed in Clients Vet Information page on www.LancasterPetSitters.com/Vet-
Information.html to share all of the medical records of all of Clients animals with
veterinary clinics in an emergency in the interest of providing the best care for
Clients ill or injured animal(s).
26. Every dog, cat, and horse at the site of service will be current (per Clients
veterinarians recommendations) on its rabies vaccinations prior to the arrival of any
caregiver. The Client will also make arrangements to guarantee that each animal will
remain current on its rabies vaccinations throughout each service visit period.
27. The Client agrees to notify Lancaster Pet Sitters of any signs of injury or possible
illness before any visit as soon as the condition appears. Lancaster Pet Sitters
reserves the right to cancel service at any location where a pet with a potentially
infectious condition exists. Lancaster Pet Sitters strives to provide clean, safe service
to each of our clients. In doing so, Lancaster Pet Sitters strongly recommends that
each pet and large animal be vaccinated, dewormed, and protected from harmful
insects according to veterinarian recommended standards.
28. This agreement is valid from the date approved as listed in Clients Vet
Information page on www.LancasterPetSitters.com/Vet-Information.html and
grants permission for future veterinary care without the need for additional
authorization each time Lancaster Pet Sitters cares for one or more of Clients pets.
The Client understands that this agreement applies to all of the pets and large
animals within Lancaster Pet Sitters care.
29. In hiring Lancaster Pet Sitters, the Client agrees that the Client has the sole authority
to make health, medical, and financial decisions regarding the animals that will be
scheduled to receive service.

injury to a pet sitter, or other persons, by the pet(s).

event of a claim by any person injured by their pet(s).

identification purposes, even if not required by law. Alternatively, a collar and ID tag
should be provided and used.

everything possible to clean the area(s), per Clients instructions, with Clients
cleaning supplies, PROVIDED IT IS NOTICED. Due to the time limitations for visits, the
pet sitter may not be able to check every room and every inch of floor space for
accidents. Lancaster Pet Sitters will not be held liable if despite cleaning efforts, a
stain, residue, or odor remains. (Everyone's idea of cleanliness is different. Pet
sitters will strive to leave Clients' homes in the same or better condition than
found.)
35. If client insists upon fewer than 2 daily visits for indoor dogs, we will agree to
perform services, but Client agrees to hold Lancaster Pet Sitters completely harmless
in the event the pet(s) should soil the Client's home. (Twice daily visits are spaced 12
hours apart, which is a very long time to leave a dog indoors.)
36. Lancaster Pet Sitters is not responsible/liable for wilted, dead, or otherwise
unhealthy plants. Pet sitter will follow Clients written directions as precisely as
possible, but cannot be responsible if the results are not favorable. Please place all
indoor plants together on a waterproof surface in plain sight, as pet sitter(s) is not
responsible for water damaged areas or missed plants.
37. Pet sitter(s) will clean pet bowls and litter boxes as necessary, but will NOT perform
any household duties (washing dishes, emptying ashtrays, etc.) that are unrelated to

Pet Sitters will not be held responsible for damage as a result of the clients
negligence (mold, bad odors, burning cigarettes, running water, etc.)

requires bathing, pet sitter(s) will bathe the pet or transport to a groomer, but must
charge an additional fee (Usually charged according to time involved). Lancaster Pet
Sitters cannot be held responsible for the quality of the bath. The main goal is to
prevent the pet from spreading excrement/urine throughout the house. Some pets
dislike bathing and may be aggressive or panic. If the pet displays aggression or
becomes a threat to the pet sitter's well-being and cannot be bathed, Lancaster Pet
Sitters will not be held liable for the consequences to pet(s) or home.
39. Lancaster Pet Sitters also provides errand services. If need dictates that supplies be
replenished, Lancaster Pet Sitters will charge according to current rate. (A minimum
30 minute charge will be assessed for EACH errand run).
40. Lancaster Pet Sitters reserves the right to terminate this contract, if at any time,
before or during its term, Lancaster Pet Sitters, in its sole discretion, determines that
Clients pet poses a danger to the health or safety of the sitter, if the Client breaches
contract due to non-payment, lying about pet aggression or medical condition, etc. If
concerns prohibit Lancaster Pet Sitters from caring for pet, Client authorizes pet to
be boarded at a kennel or veterinarian, with all charges (including transport,
kenneling, etc.) to be paid by Client or reimbursed to Lancaster Pet Sitters.

inclement weather, or during holidays when fireworks may be discharged. Walks
during the summer may be shortened due to excessive heat.
42. Lancaster Pet Sitters is not responsible if, despite the best of efforts, a pet refuses to
eat or to be walked. Lancaster Pet Sitters reserves the right to attempt to walk a dog
for a period of five days. If after that time period the sitter(s) is still unable to walk
the dog, Lancaster Pet Sitters will terminate the agreement. Client is responsible for
payment of visits even if sitter(s) is unable to walk dog due to dogs reluctance to
walk.
43. Lancaster Pet Sitters will not guarantee specific time slots. A 2-3 hour window is
acceptable, except in the case of pets that require medication at a specific time (in
which case a one hour window is acceptable). Pet sitting hours fall between the
hours of 7am and 7pm and are usually completed during this time period, unless
there is a heavy workload. (Special arrangements can be made for late night visits
and overnight stays. There are additional fees for these services.)
44. Lancaster Pet Sitters reserves the right to deny service or terminate service for any
reason, but especially in the case of safety concerns, financial concerns, unsanitary
conditions, inhumane treatment of animals, non-payment of services, or situations
that the pet sitter(s) deems inappropriate or uncomfortable.
45. In case of a pet sitters personal emergency, family crisis, illness, injury, vacation, or
personal leave, Client authorizes Lancaster Pet Sitters to arrange for a backup sitter
to fulfill responsibilities as set forth in this contract, without prior notification to
Client. Client waives the right to a meeting with the person who will fulfill these
responsibilities, in the interest of time limitations and due to the fact that the person
will not be the Clients permanent pet care provider. If Client insists upon meeting
with substitute pet sitter, meeting will be arranged if time permits, and may be
billed at the rate of a pet sitting visit at the discretion of Lancaster Pet Sitters.
46. Lancaster Pet Sitters will not answer Clients land line phone while Client is away,

key Client has provided in the lock box, Lancaster Pet Sitters is authorized to use a
locksmith and to be reimbursed by Client for all expenses incurred.
48. Lancaster Pet Sitters does not, under any circumstances, agree to job sharing with
Clients relatives, friends, neighbors, or others. Job sharing is defined as having
anyone besides Lancaster Pet Sitters enter the home with the intention of caring for
or interacting with any of Clients pets, whether with Clients express permission or
not. Lancaster Pet Sitters is automatically released from ALL liability, and Client will
be deemed to be in breach of contract in these instances. Lancaster Pet Sitters also
reserves the right to terminate service AT ANY TIME, in the event of job-sharing, due
to the liability risks involved, and due to the Clients having breached the contract by
allowing the job-sharing to occur. If Lancaster Pet Sitters is forced to terminate
service due to job sharing, pets will be transported to a veterinarian for boarding
until the client returns home. Client agrees to pay for boarding and other expenses
incurred by the veterinarian. Client acknowledges that Lancaster Pet Sitters will
NOT refund client for any remaining visits.
