The camera functions with a touch screen: Touch a menu item to select it. Swipe your
fnger up or down, left or right to navigate within the menu.

The menu is structured as follows:
1 Turn on the camcorder.
2 Make sure you are in Camera Mode.
2 Select [FUNC.]
3 Select [MENU]

03 - Insert Memory Card
THIS CAMERA RECORDS VIDEO ON SD CARDS ONLY!
To erase earlier recordings on the SD card, giving you maximum re-
cording capacity, format/Initialize the memory card.
1 Turn on the camcorder.

04 - Select the Video Quality (Recording Mode)
The camcorder offers 5 recording modes. Changing the recording
mode will change the recording time available on the memory card.
1 Turn on the camcorder into the operating mode.
2 Use the touch screen:
3 Set recording mode to SP.

1 Set the mode switch to .
2 Turn the camcorder on.
To record video
Press to begin recording.
Press again to pause
the recording.
To take photos
1 Press halfway.
Once the focus is automatically adjusted, will turn green and
one or more AF frames will appear.
2 Press fully.
The ACCESS indicator will fash as the photo is being recorded.

The zoom speed can be altered:
* If you push the lever a little bit to the right the camera will zoom
slowly.
* If you push the lever all the way to the right the camera zooms
rapidly.

07 - Steady Shot / Image Stabilisation
The camcorder stabilises the image automatically, so that you can produce
steady images even when holding the camera in your hands, or when walk-
ing while flming. - You can make image stabilisation even more powerful
by using the button. Powered IS is most effective when you are
stationary and zooming in on far subjects.
1 Hold the LCD panel with your left hand to add stability.
2 Press and hold as long as you want to activate Powered
IS.

08 - Attach an External Microphone
You can use external microphones for optimal audio recording, such as re-
cording interviews in a noisy environment.
1 Connect the external microphone to
the MIC terminal.
2 Hand the microphone to the person
in front of the camera.

09 - Play Back your Recordings
You can play back your videos in the camera, making sure you have record-
ed what you wanted.
1 Press .
2 Open the [Original] index screen,
if it is not displayed.
3 Look for the scene you want to
play back.
4 Use the sreen buttons to
navigate.
