La Fondazione Pastificio Cerere presenta per la prima volta il lavoro di
un'artista tedesca-iraniana Parastou Forouhar, che attualmente vive e
lavora a Francoforte sul Meno e che stata nel 2006 borsista
all'Accademia Tedesca Villa Massimo di Roma.
Il nuovo lavoro dell'artista basato su una animazione in cui figure
stilizzate creano degli elementi geometrici e decorativi. L'opera di Forohuar
cerca di indagare sull'ambivalenza del valore estetico celando dietro di
esso elementi di comunicazione che mostrano
atroci torture.
Con il solito colore rosa su sfondo nero le immagini grafiche di Parastou
richiamano le decorazioni dei vasi greci e contemporaneamente una
forma assoluta di figura stilizzata. Questa forte sintesi
grafica permette di inviare un messaggio quasi subliminale che fonde
l'aspetto estetico della forma con l'atroce comunicazione del
significato. Una duplice struttura che riflette anche il lato dell'estetica della
catastrofe, parte integrante della cultura contemporanea espressa dai
media.
Contemporanea all'installazione l'artista presenta il progetto Analizing While
Waiting (for time to pass) una rassegna video di 31 artisti iraniani con opinio-
ni critiche. Questo progetto, realizzato insieme a Susann Wintsch, mostra
l'attenzione che l'artista ha per la comunit artistica di Terhan.

The Pastificio Cerere Foundation introduces for the first time a German-
Iranian artist Parastou Forouhar; she currently lives and works in Germany
and has been in 2006 a scholarship at the Villa Massimo German
Academy in Rome.
Her new work is a video with stylized figures that create some geometric
and decorative ornaments. Forouhuar's work tries to investigate the
ambivalence of the aesthetical value
hiding in it communication elements which show atrocious tortures.
Using a soft pink colour on a black material the pattern remind the
Greek vases ornaments and at the same time an absolute stylized shape
of figure. This strong synthesis enables to communicate an almost sublimi-
nal message which combines the esthetic aspect of form with the atro-
cious communication of meaning. There is also the aesthetic side of
catastrophe, often expressed by contemporary culture media.
At the same time Parastou introduces the plan Analizing While Waiting
(for Time to pass), some video of 31 Iranians artists with critical statement.
This plan, realized with Susann Wintsch, shows the artist's attention on the
artistic community of Terhan.
